Yeah I'm a huge Dark Souls Fangirl, those games are really something. So beautiful and creepy! And they have tons of fucking complicated headdresses! Love~So I tried to draw Gwyndolin, youngest child of great Lord Gwyn... Opposite to his male siblings born in the sign of the sun, he was born under the moon with an affinity to magic and got raised as a daughter. He has a very feminine appearance, but I like the fact that he is male so I took some outift liberties and left his chest bare. I don't have a clue why he has snakes as legs, I need to read more of the Dark Souls lore. But they are pretty. XD
My heart broke a little when I found out why Aldritch in Dark Souls 3 looks that beautiful, what a terrible fate for sweet Gwyndolin.

Siehst du ich wusste das es nicht unordentlich bleiben Würde sondern großartig werden! Es ist wirklich fantastisch geworden.
Das schwarze Papier bietet sich wirklich für die dark souls reihe an. Und das hier passt sich auch gut in die reihe der anderen portrais.

Ach die Schlangen sind seine Beine! Naja damit kommt er immerhin Gut über Stock und Stein? So oder so sie sind ein schöner ornamentaler Schmuck ein bisschen wie Rauch wie sie sich dahin schlängeln, ich denke das tut der Stimmung des Bildes Gut. Er ist ja auch wie dahin gegossen, was seine Feminine erziehung gut rüberbringt denk ich.
Ach und der Kopfschmuck, na dazu muss ich doch nix sagen!!
Also Fazit: Es ist großartig in Atmosphäre, Komposition und Umsetzung! Das kann man sicher auch als Postkarten oder Poster Drucken! Dafür hast du noch sehr viel mehr Aufmerksamkeit und Lob verdient!

Hehe nein aber manchmal sind diese Zwischenschritte so frustrierend, wenn man gezwungen ist abzuwarten und es so langsam trocknet und alles. Dieses Chaos! Und man denkt nur...wie werde ich es jemals bezwingen!?! Aber am Ende hat es hingehauen, der Fudepen hat alle hässlichen weißen Linien vernichtet!
Ja total oder? Aber natürlich ist meine weiße Tusche auch bald leer, muss wohl mal neue bestellen mit dem Gold zusammen. Ich wollte auch das es so zusammenpasst. Die Portaits haben mir viel Spaß gemacht aber waren halt sehr gerushed, da wollte ich nochmal versuchen etwas mit mehr Inhalt zu zeichnen. Vielleicht kommt noch ein weiteres in der Reihe, ich hab ne ganz gute Idee.
Die Schlangen sind tatsächlich seine Beine, allerdings merkwürdigerweise erst ab dem Knie oder so. Ich weiß auch nicht weshalb er sie hat oder woher, was dachte sich der Designer dabei? Gwyndolin ist ja auch sowas wie der kleinste und schwächste des Wurfes und auch der Letzte glaub ich. Die Geschwister sind allein von der Größe ein Vielfaches von ihm und auch sehr mächtig und sie haben aber eher menschliche Gestalten. Vielleicht ist dieses tierische Element ein Zeichen für seine Unterlegenheit oder es ist eine Referenz zur christlichen Dogmatik, da sein Orden speziell Sünder jagt und die Schlange ein Symbol dafür ist? Ich weiß es halt nicht. Dark Souls - aka: Ich habe viele Fragen.
Manchmal haben sie so einen Hang zu femininen Boys bei Dark Souls, solche ganz zarten. Maskuline Frauen eher weniger, auch wenn es da doch einige krasse Kämpferinnen gibt, aber die sind dann meist absolut null weiblich, weil du eh nur die Rüstung siehst. Boobplates gibts da nämlich nicht oh Gott sei Dank!
Der Kopfschmuck erinnert an die Sonne oder? Der war echt Krebs. XD

Das stimmt! vllt brauchst du so eine heatgun das alles schneller Trocknet und du kannst schneller weiter machen, eine Youtuberin hat sowas weil sie warten auch hasst.

Ja es gibt Wikis, aber...die helfen dir auch nicht sehr viel. Und wenn mal was drin steht dann spoilert es dir alles weg, was doof ist.

I had so much fun with the serpents, I felt very at ease drawing them, those never endling loops.
But the headpiece was such a pain in the ass! I have SO MUCH respect for the concept artists of this...
My version is rather flat and 2d here, and I nearly cried in frustration. But trying this in 3d must be even worse!

I am not familiar with the story? , game? or whatever you are working from however, your work shows that you are blessed with a talent that is exquisite.
I hope you always have the courage to enjoy it for yourself, never having to explain or justify your work to anyone else ..... unless of course it's a commission piece 
Also, kudos for using Gimp. A great open source program which blows away all the other, expensive "professional programs" the design communities insist are the only way to work!

Well in this format we do, "Weekly Challenge" I'm discussing the artwork with friends to improve and to get feedback, so some explaining might be not so bad.
Ah yeah I love to use gimp for the color corrections etc. cause I started to use it many years ago and I never can abandon it entirely for Photoshop, cause the functions are nearly identical in some points and gimp is much more intuitive in my opinion. So it stays. XD

Game: Dark souls
Story: Dark sun gwyndolin born of the god Gwyn ruler of sunlight had a sun but as he was more keen to the powers of the moon Gwyn treated him as a princess it changed him into the Dark sun, dark sun Qwyndolin serves as Prince/princess and captain of the royal guard with her own elite covenants called the dark moons who's job is to punish and kill sinners

Beautifully explained, thanks a lot! I'm always wondering as to...why? Why would they treat him this princess way? Do gods come to be as babies as well or are they just being 'made' and come into full existence? Are they taking his masculinity on purpose, because it's shameful to be a man and praise the moon instead of the sun? Or did they support Gwyndolins affinity and treated him like a lady, like he wished to be seen? So many questions...On the other hand he still has a kind of a male military position as the guard captain, so it's not a complete denial. Anyway this mysterious circumstances are great. So much to think about.

The moon is often shown as a feminine celestial object in ancient history for its soft gentle glow unlike the sun with its harsh light one would think that this thought was passed onto the dark souls lore. I don't think it's shameful as gwyn loved all his children and fully supported Gywndolins moon love

I tend to be more of a Dark Sun or moon personality myself. I'm very comfortable in the darkness with only the moon & stars. Fortunately, I live & was raised in the southwestern desert.
Lots of open space, stars that go on forever, sounds of the desert at night, owls, coyotes & other assorted wildlife.
I have an elderly friend who tells a story about her oldest son & as a youngster he always referenced night as the "Dark Day." I think he would fit into the world you describe as well.

It is not my work I'm simply just explaining it and I can see Whatcha mean me personally I identify more with games God of war he betrayed his father to stop the genocide of all dragons and for his betrayal he was erased from history all status of him were destroyed but a small covenant who see him as a friend to all help fellow undead/Ashen ones in JOLLY COOP by helping them through out all there trouble

That is some really awesome work. You have a good understanding of anatomy and have posed her in such a beautiful way. Iike how she looks really elegant and grand but also deadly and venomous (forgive me, i have not played the games but everyone keeps telling me i should). Good job, keep it up
