Read your description and wasn't sure if I found this one boring or not. That is, until I discovered...
That ice, cold stare resting upon his face. It's haunting. The background is cheery, yet his emotions are not showing it. He looks lost in thought. Like, something is happening far inside his mind that even he's unsure how to feel about. Sorry. Got carried away there.
It may be titled, "I'm Not Active, I Swear." But when I see it, all I can think is, "Unbroken in Thought." Nice drawing, and I love the lace design on his shoes.

Actually you know what, I never realized it but that's kind of how I feel most of the time. Maybe I'm subconsciously putting all my traits on my characters? :0

That happens! Many times I've written something which I thought was about someone else. Only to look back and realize I was writing about myself the whole time.
A good artist brings out their inner thoughts and emotions through their artwork; causing others to feel the same as they do. That's what makes someone a great artist. You could have all the technical skills in the world, but if you can't make me understand you, then it's merely skill and a vain show.

I guess that's why I don't like illustrations nearly as much as I like fine art; there's no connection that draws me into the art, so I become bored and move on. It's so, so important to embed messages and meanings into things. Even though some artists gain a following through basic illustrations, they'll never be able to stand the test of time like others due to the fact that in the end, there's nothing that makes their art stand out beside basic things like style.
Also future apologies for any run-ons, I just came home super late and I need to sleep. =w=
