"Perhaps, this will be a little bit of fun. Everything does seem nice and clean. It's not overcrowded, and there are no children here at all.” Kid took a deep breath in, filling his nostrils with the harsh smell of chlorine. “I may be able to endure this after all.”

“I'm glad you approve, now can I please get in the pool? This is supposed to be a mini vacation for us. And it wont be very relaxing if we just stand around.” Dropping your towel onto a nearby bench, you started for the water. Before your feet could get wet, Kid pulled you out.

“Not yet we can't. Look at that mess. There's no way I can enjoy myself until we've fixed it.” He pointed to the dozens of beach chairs surrounding the pool. You immediately knew the problem. They were facing in all different directions, some blue, some red. Some sitting up and some laying down. There was no symmetry to be found. “Come on, let's hurry. This really should only take a few minutes if we work together.”

“B-but, the pool, and the water.” You gave the best struggle you could, but Kid was relentless. There would be no peace until you helped him. Letting out a long sigh, you stopped struggling and gave in. “Fine, what do you want me to do?”

“We're going to sit all these chairs up, putting them in a blue, red, blue, red order.” Kid began, leading by example. “Like I said, it shouldn't take us long, just stay focused.” His speed really was amazing. He'd already managed to fix the majority of his chairs. “What are you waiting for?”

“Nothing, I'm going.” Not nearly as fast, you straightened and color coated the chairs. About ten minutes later, the job was done. “There, finished. Can we swim now, please?” You pressed your hands together in front of your face, pleading with him.

He nodded. “I suppose, all seems well now.”

“Yes, finally.” Before he could change his mind, or find something else that needed fixing, you cannon balled into the pool. “Ah, sweet, sweet, refreshing, chlorinated water.” You floated onto your back and slowly made your way around the pool.

Kid's voice interrupted your bliss. “D-do you see that?” He looked from side to side, over and over again, an excited smile, slowly spreading across his face.

“See what?” You cringed inwardly, praying silently that he hadn't found something else wrong with the pool. “Kid, what is it.” Bringing your float to an end, you placed your feet down on the pool floor and started walking over to him.

“Come, look.” He was still standing on the stairs of the pool, only wet to his ankles. “Quickly its perfect.” Kid outstretched his arms, smiling a smile of pure joy and contentment. Once you'd reached him, he grabbed your shoulders, turning you around to face in the same direction as he was. “Isn't it just amazing?”

You looked at the room from one end to another, trying to find what was exciting him so much. It just looked like the local swimming pool to you, nothing more. “Honestly, I don't see anything special. What exactly am I supposed to be seeing here?”

“It's simple, everything.” Realizing you were still clueless, Kid elaborated. “Look at the windows, the same number, eight, on each side. Matching fountains on the left and right. Duel slides, identical. Even the tile pattern on the bottom of the pool is perfect.”

“Oh, I see. That's pretty neat.” You rubbed the back of your head. “So, you'll be okay to go swimming then? Because quite honestly it's not all that much fun to stare at it.”

Kid stood there and thought a long time. “Yes, I suppose. I was ready to swim before, I see no reason why I shouldn’t now.” He nodded and took another step into the pool, letting the water reach only to the middle of his calf. “A bit chilly, isn't it?”

“Yeah, but lucky for you, I know a way to make you get used to it really fast.” Already knowing your plan, Kid tried to make a run for it. “No you don't!” Rushing, you wrapped both your arms around him and struggled to get him into the pool. Once back in the water, you let yourself fall backwards, taking him down with you and soaking you both. “See, that wasn't so bad.”

All the happiness had drained from Kids face. “One day, I will do bodily harm to you for this. However, I suppose I am no longer cold, so your punishment can wait.”

“How gracious of you. I'm so honored I don't even know what to do.” You let yourself laugh freely. “Now swim or I'll splash you into oblivion.”

“You wouldn't even dream of it.” Kid squinted his eyes at you, almost daring you to act upon your words.

“Oh wouldn't I?” Knowing Kid would never punish you, or even prank you, you had no problem proving him wrong. In a matter of seconds there was a full blown splash war between the two of you. Neither of you could talk due to the large amounts of water being forced into your faces. Through the water, you could see a slight smile on Kid's face. The two of you splashed, tackled and half drowned each other until the pool was empty. The battle ended without a winner, only two very tired opponents.

“You're a formidable foe. I salute you.” He panted, pulling himself up to the tile floor outside the pool. “I didn't think this would be so enjoyable.”

After wrapping your towel around your chilly body, you turned towards Kid. Upon seeing him, your smiled vanished. “U-um, Kid, you didn't wear any sunscreen, did you?”

“No, we're indoors, I saw no need to wear it.” His entire upper half was badly burned, while his lower half seemed untouched by the sun. You had no idea how he didn't feel it.

“Yes, but the ceiling is made totally of glass, and some of that glass opens up to let the sun and heat in.” You winced, knowing he would be hurting later. “We should really go. You need to get some aloe on that burn, and fast.”

“B-burn, aloe?” Kid jumped to his feet, staring in disbelief at his burn. “W-why? This is awful.” He looked ready to cry.

“I'm so sorry Kid, I didn't notice. Maybe Stein has something that can help heal you faster.” You grabbed his towel from the bench and held it out for him. “Come on, we should really hurry.”

Kid stood frozen, staring into a full length mirror, horror written all over his face. “Even the sun mocks me. Only my torso, why, why not all of me?”
