Don't ask... seriously, I don't know!
Maybe it's because they're broadcasting Dragonball again here in Italy, but I suddenly felt the urge to draw one of my old OCs together with my two most favourite characters in Toriyama's universe...
Here you are Iles, last living female Saiyan, Nappa's sister (I said don't ask ) and Vegeta's fiancée, a strong and moody young girl who didn't take so well the news that her wannabe-husband killed her brother... and who finally fell for Vegeta Junior, namely future Trunks!
Iles was born like in 1996, she isn't one of my oldest OCs but she's one of the most long-lived, I used her name as a nickname for years! I also wrote a fanfic about her but unfortunately I can't find it anymore!

On the tecnical side, this was merely an excuse to try my new Intuos4 and Photoshop CS5!
The surface's rougher than my old Bamboo, I fear nibs are going to wear out faster, but I can feel every 2048 pressure levels!
Moreover, I'm in love with the flex nibs, they feel so smooth when I color that it seems far easier than it used to be before!

Isn't it funny when you realize that most of your anatomical base knowledge comes from a manga, and from Dragonball above all? Well, it's funny for me at least!
Now, I only have to find some manga to learn perspective and I'm ready to conquer the world...
I forgot how easy and fast it is drawing in manga-style and coloring in flat colors...

By the way, is it just me, or is there something in Trunks that reminds of Anders? I don't know... hair band in front of the face, short jacket with high collar, trendy boots... I guess that my taste as regards (non existing) men hadn't changed a lot since I was 16...

Non fatemi domande... sul serio, non ne ho idea!
Forse e' perche' stanno mandando di nuovo in onda Dragonball, ma ho improvvisamente sentito la necessita' di disegnare uno dei miei vecchi OC con i miei due personaggi preferiti dell'universo di Toriyama...
Eccovi dunque Iles, l'ultima Saiyan vivente, sorella di Nappa (ho detto di non fare domande ) nonche' promessa sposa di Vegeta, una ragazzina forte e lunatica che non ha preso molto bene il fatto che il suo promesso le abbia ucciso il fratello... e che finira' per innamorarsi di Vegeta-Junior, alias Trunks!
Ho creato Iles nel 1996, non e' uno dei miei OC piu' vecchi ma di certo e' uno dei piu' longevi visto che ho usato il suo nome come nick per anni! Avevo anche scritto una fanfic sulla sua storia ma non riesco piu' a trovarla!

Dal punto di vista tecnico, questa era solo una scusa per provare la mia nuova Intuos4 e Photoshop CS5!
La superfice e' piu' ruvida della mia vecchia Bamboo e temo che le punte si consumeranno piu' in fretta, pero' riesco a sentire tutti i 2048 livelli di pressione!
Inoltre mi sono innamorata delle punte flessibili, che avendo la punta di gomma sono cosi' soffici quando le uso per colorare che sembra sia diventato piu' facile farlo!

In ogni caso, non trovate che sia divertente realizzare che buona parte della propria conoscenza di base dell'anatomia venga da un manga, e da Dragonball in particolare? Beh, per me lo e' stato!
Adesso devo solo trovare un manga che mi insegni la prospettiva e poi sono pronta a conquistare il mondo...
Avevo dimenticato quanto fosse facile e veloce disegnare in stile manga e colorare a tratti uniformi...

Comunque, sono io o c'e' qualcosa in Trunks che ricorda Anders? Non saprei... i ciuffi di capelli davanti alla faccia, la giacca corta con il collo tirato su, gli stivali trendy... suppongo che i miei gusti in fatto di uomini (che non esistono) non siano poi tanto cambiati da quando avevo 17 anni...
