That's the game in a nutshell. While it's not canon (TT_TT) it gives fans a strong idea of what the relationship could have been between the two (Tolkein why couldn't you have said it was so!).
Because let's face it, if the person who killed you is still chasing you after THOUSANDS of years wanting you to "come back" and is willing to "forgive" you; there is definitely more going on than wanting ring-smithing skills Sauron would already know/have created/learned at Celebrimbor's side.

With all due respect, most people don't actually sit down to read the Simarillion. They just like to say that they do because they looked stuff up in it now and again. Reading the Silmarillion is like reading an encyclopedia for fun. People just like saying that they did so because they want their "Tolkien cred" to look respectable. In actuality people use it as a reference when they need to find information.

My life is now complete! As a huge platform video gamer I saw this ship nearly the second I put the game in I swear. About 4 hours in and my 99billionth re spawn i got a "certain" cut scene and in my frustrated drunken ramble I told my friend "most morbid ship ever." and she responded with, "this is true." then I stayed up reading fan fiction all night afterwords.....*sigh* but still kudos! You're amazing!
