"It's all your fault-" Suddenly the whirlwind stops in front of him, two glowering red eyes staring into him a hair away. "-I'm dead." The mist takes the form of skeletal jaws open wide, rushing forward and clamping down through Ahat's face and showering him with the chill of death.
The outside air begins to warm, the sound of clattering bones dissipates, as the spirit appears to have moved on. Ahat's thoughts no longer reflect his every failure as they once again become his own, and he is released from the fear inflicted by the spirit, however he feels dizzy and mentally weaker."

Consistent, piercing ringing paralyzed the cheetah's hearing. His heart beat at a rate only rivaling his sprints. Albeit the warmth began to engulf his bristled coat again, he couldn't remove the frost gripping at his heart.
"What? I killed? This happened? Was it real?" Such a swarm of words formed incoherent questions. Ahat's mind was unable to focus on anything but the memory of malevolent red eyes... and massive jaws that went through his face, that he could have sworn he lost.

His oppressor looked like no species of animal he knew. Well, any alive beast that is. Thinking on the reality brought his essence back to reality; he was sitting in a vast area, void of everything but sand and dunes. It was dark, but the night was still warm. He began to feel it again.

The further he recollected his thoughts and pieced together the facts, including that he himself was unchanged physically, the more he began to think of this as an illusion. A bad trip. Some bad scent or something he ate earlier messing with his brain. That couldn't have been real. The dead are dead. Dead... Has he really killed someone and hasn't remembered it?

Before he could fully rake through that branch of memories, a gust of wind picked up sand behind him and his body automatically jumped. He took the hint; sprinting back towards Alexandria. Muscle motion relieved tension, anxiety and any fear he had naturally. During his voyage back, he pieced together a revolution; that wasn't real, he never killed anyone and he shouldn't doubt that.

But, one thing was for certain; he is never indulging his dangerous curiosity again.
Ominous uknowns can kiss his ass.

My reply to the prompt OneLifeRemaining slapped Ahat with. Shu gets a necklace and Ahat gets anxiety, I see this as an absolute win.
