So, it's been recently passed that Derpy Hooves has had her name changed or maybe even omitted, along with a voice change because people believed it to be "crude" or "offensive". But everypony, Bronies, Pegasisters and Others alike always believed in her but I guess we just didn't try hard enough, and Derpy thinks she didn't try hard enough either and she's sorry. So let's all stand hoof in hoof and hope that maybe one day, our petition will pass and bring our dear Derpy back to us.Related content

Ah, well said. Hopefully the ones who started this will realize the mistake they made. I personally don't see how Derpy Hooves is any more offensive than a Disney character named Goofy of who has pretty much the same basis of character.

Which that is what Derpy was, hence her name. And I found her voice was cute, and suited her.
I have friends with a voice similar to Derpy's old one, and they aren't mentally handicapped.

Hasbro had no choice. All of this started because of some anti-bronies and MLP:FIM haters that sent a litter to Hasbro that it was an offense cause one of the animator's child was mentally challenge.

eeyup and thats not all. I am handicap, well partially handicap but what the parents did to Derpy was offensive. is there anyway to show those two videos to Hasbro? So that what they did to Derpy was a HUGE MISTAKE.

The character is addressed by Rainbow Dash in The Last Roundup as Derpy, where she speaks for the first time. The scene was later altered so Rainbow Dash no longer names Derpy, and her voice has been changed.
No one is really sure of her current name.
