Thanks! I used Photoshop cc 2018 and some textured square brush, I think it's basic but I am not sure, I don't remember

ok awesome I just started to move from traditional art to digital and so far I love it but when I see some digital paintings online I have like no idea how the artists achieved certain effects, transitions, etc. its frustrating when you know what you want to do but you don't know how to do it in photoshop   I'm also using cc 2018 so far with the stock brushes but I'm thinking about downloading some square brush the round brushes are just... I don't know.. strange?

Glad for you! I love traditional but digital is awesome. It's faster and not messy  
I would recommend downloading these brushes and experiment: BRUSHES  
Also follow and watch videos of sinix, marco bucci, proko and ahmed aldoori on youtube. I learned from them a lot!
