I was reading the interesting comment below here about the coloring and the grass etc... I'm really not an expert in colors and digital painting, to be honest, but I wouldn't say the grass' textures are too harsh, I'd even say the opposite xD. I mean, I find amazing the grass and greenery effect, but it has these softer and more "dirtied" tones of green, that result in a more realistic painting effect than the WoW cartoonish style of the two characters
(and I mean in the coloring style but in the drawing style too). But still, even if I find it a bit contrasting, I think the brighter and more cartoonish stone and the spells' light effects create a bit of a transition, between the characters and the background, that helps them blending in
Ah and btw I love the characters expressivity x)

To this day the layered-on spell effects you got using images still don't blend well with your artwork. It's like a clash of texture that just doesn't create a nice harmony.. The grass textures are too harsh as well. Your art is very smooth and seamless, so I'd practise painting spell effects using your own techniques!

i appreciate your feedback, but all of those spell efects were "hand made" with a variety of brushes. I actually did, thanks to you, practise spell effects using my own techniques, after you initially commented on this. The grass... maybe its a bit gimmicky, but it's just such an efficient way of rendering it. I'm glad you think my work is smooth and seamless btw!

Yeah, I realised after I had already closed my browser that they were probably brushes (pre-patterned, but still). And yeah, your rendering is like.. perfect lmao

some of the brushes make it very easy to do effects like that, other require more work. thanks!
