Gogo's being kind of nice about it, but Andy's got a point.

As you can see now, the entire point of this story is to present a scenario in which people from Wisconsin are interesting in any way that doesn't involve cheese or the Green Bay Packers. It turns out that in order to do that, you need to find a hybrid monster-human from another dimension who's never even heard of the place.

Now that's taken care of, and we can move on

Now that you are putting starfields in your night sky backgrounds, check out stellarium-web.org/ , a Web-based planetarium that can give you an idea of the actual starfield for a given time (10k years past to 10k years future) and global location or, if you give it location permissions, a realtime display of your location and time. Uses this software ( stellarium.org/) on the
back end.  You can use the mouse point to spin the view horizontally and vertically (overhead or down through the Earth).  Wisconsin-accurate starfield backgrounds are surely needed for precision navigation when teller-warping between Mulwakey and Juno Grove.

I wouldn't consider Wisconsin a boring place. If you want a place often considered boring, I think you would find Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma a decent challenge.

Gogo: "So you is telling me that your people celebrate big, burly mens in helmets and padding smashing into eachother over hunk of aerodynamic leather by watching while screaming, painted in colors and numbers of your favorite burly mens while eating grilled meats, drinking beer and wearing chunks of cheese bigger than your head?!"

Andy:"Well it sounds stupid when you put it like that, and its not REAL chee- Are... Are you crying?"

Gogo: *SNORT* NO. *SNIFFLE* IS NOT LIKE THAT SOUNDS THE MOST AWESOMEST THING I COULD BE IMAGINING."

And, have I already told I REALLY LIKE GOGO?!

All I’ve got so far is that Gogo is from a world where people fight giant monsters and that she is one of them. I still don’t know why she was on an island with her dad or who her mom is. Did I miss any details so far?

Sniff.  The feels from these pages, I think I'm getting cavities.  Just kidding.  This is great

Andy finally exhibits that he is in fact, a kind and empathetic human being and Gogo reciprocates.  In this mutual exchange of empathy, a connection is made and the walls of ignorance begin to crumble.  Andy sees that Gogo is not a 'thing' to be feared but a unique creature, with a mind and a heart and a will, just like him.

Moments like these are absolutely essential for laudable story telling.  Bravo, Van.

Love is the answer.  Love is the way.

But really, for a fish-out-of-water like Gogo, there might be some novellty to meeting a normal kid from Wisconsin. Granted, it'll wear off like a press-on tattoo, but still.

She does have a point about Andy chasing her down despite knowing that she's a flippin' Kaiju, though - that takes a bit more guts than just a normal person.

Trust me, EVERY epic story usually starts out with 'I'm just a kid from *insert boring state name here*'.

Half of them turn out to be unknowingly royalty or something to though.

I doubt Andy is, given modern Wisconsin isn't a context that would make that very significant.
