the followup to [link]Hector goes forth...awfully brave, i'm proud of him, the poor bastard.
if you've read this little story arc, you've probably realized just how petty this whole thing is...Hector simply has a crush and has dreamed accordingly, and Gogo has taxed his desire through the use of fearmongering (i think she gets off on terrifying the weak anyway)
whatever strange yet considerable powers Andy has over Gogo, they seem to be working (although he may have reached his limits) as Gogo is actually apologizing for her behavior. Note, however, that for her to apologize, the victim must kneel in submission, and she's still a sourpuss about it.
note also, the bat.

This comic can be divided in three; top, middle and bottom panels. Quality is descending.
Top row has excellent pacing and flow. The red sky behind Gogo is just the right atmosphere and you buy the concept, even though the sky doesn't stay red, you know it's there for emotional enhancement rather than anything else. The crows is a nice touch. I can almost hear the classical western music that always plays when there's a duel at noon. Awesome.
Middle row is where characters suddenly lose a lot of detail that was displayed in top row. Pacing runs a little too fast, I would've liked a third panel in this row where Hector looks up at Gogo, the moment before he starts crying.
Bottom row is perplexing to me. I don't know what to make of Gogo's expression in the first panel. She looks kinda.. disgusted. And even if that's true, it's still vague. I'm assuming that the middle panel is supposed to show Gogo's remorse for laying such a heavy mental havoc on Hector (H is the heaviest letter!), but she just seems bothered in that "yes, mother" kind of way. That's a little off I think. The last panel is the real downer on this page. The close-up is way too serious for an apology like that, and again, Gogo's expression is confusing. She doesn't look sorry, she looks like she's about to kill a bear. Again, I would like another panel in this row, where the "sorry" line is inserted, showing Hector's surprised face at Gogo's sudden mercy.
I don't know. You did so well the first three panels, but then you kinda got off sync with yourself and your characters.
That's my two cents.
(And WHY is almost every comment in here no more than a one-liner?? It's almost close to rudeness..)

the overall quality of the page definitely doesn't feel like my best, and the middle row i could certainly have done more with (lazy, i guess).
panel 2 was easy because i've been given that look many a time ^^
i'd argue that this isn't a genuine "sorry" from her, hence the "yes, mother" grimace (and in keeping with what comes next) and in spite of the other pitfalls on the page, i do like the last panel in that actually getting an apology out of her is really grating, no matter how artificial.

It's a Barbarian Psychological thing. She brought the bat just in case, in her fleeting moment of apology, she should sense the slightest bit power loss on her side, she can instantly reclaim it by bashing his swelling head in.
