hiyas!

i've had this one sitting around for quite a while, since i wasn't sure where to put it, how to finish it, etc... then tonight i remembered "who cares?" and, well, here ya go.

"Girl talk", as it were...if Gogo's going to talk about her "feelings", it's going to be brief. What I wanted to hint at was the fact that, bottom line, Gogo has no idea what she's doing with Andy. She likes him, but doesn't know how. I believe Gogo's knowledge and experiences in relationships (platonic or otherwise) is likely very incomplete, bruised, or misinformed, and now presented with what could very well be a "normal" relationship, she's got no frame of reference beyond the notion that she's bound to screw things up---and aren't a lot of us just the same?

so...

Man. Gogo always looks like she's ready to kick ass. ALL THE TIME. She's that one person in the crowd, whom you imagine in their underwear, and then suddenly it's worse.

Huh. Are Gogo and Didi getting more different physically, or were they always meant to be that different and just being drawn more differentiated now?

Uh, both, i guess. It's an evolving process, to be honest. I've always meant for them to be different, but I've become more interested in demonstrating it visually

I don't know what you did on this one but it looks very different from the way you depicted the characters in the past it seems very refined I like it.

So where exactly is the beginning of this comic? I'm having a hard time finding it. Cause right now, I'm not understand the connection between any of the characters. I just started watching your gallery, so yeah.

Showing this to a friend of mine, she questioned the sphere boobs of Gogo in the last frame and that "no natural breasts will do that."

I cannot speak for my friend, all I can say is that any excuse you give is no substitute for doing things right the first time or fixing them later.

well said, but those particular boobs will have to go on as they are, spherical and all, because the fix is low on my priority list

Wow, Gogo really look like a soldier womans build should be (maybe a little too toned) with muscles and a decent layer of fat over it all. They both *ahem* look like women.
Besides that, it is nice to get some depth of the characters themselves so it isn't always SUPER HUMAN RANDOM SMASH super powers all the time.

Yes, it does seem that way to a lot of us.
Great comic, wonderful way of having Gogo and Didi talk and express things in a way that seems natural to them. I really like the shading on Gogo and how you made her look very muscular compared to Didi. And yes, it would be brief. This is Gogo we are talking about.

Bear bear bear...

See I get a random image of Gogo, having stolen numerous tasty goods from local campers, being scolded by Andy warning her that "Ranger Didi" isn't going to like what she's doing.

Yeah, that totally came to mind while being showered in panty shots.

Ha, this is great. Oddly enough, my favorite panel is the middle one, especially that expression. It manages to communicate a real subtle punch of emotion without any dialogue.

Also, Gogo is now my Fitspiration.

Looking at this page it's interesting to see the subtle changes your work has gone through since I first followed you here on dA. Didi looks like less of a blank clone of Gogo which is nice. The difference in musculature works out quite nicely. Then there are shifts in coloring, the subtle changes work really well. I like the soft transition in value from the highlights into the shadows. Minor critique, Didi's neck seems a little to thin for her head in some of the panels, as if there's very little muscle to connect her neck to her torso.

I wonder what needs Didi thinks Gogo is repressing.
I think it's her need to absolutely destroy and utterly annihilate something. I hope at least.
Otherwise bear is a very lucky S.O.B. somewhere in the near future .

It's a bit scary. Much as I love the hell out of this series, sometimes it feels like you're just getting all the fluff and comedy out of the way now so you can eventually focus entirely on 'teh drama' later.

Some major fallout seems to be on the horizon. Probably from an outside source, GoGo's Andy-lookalike stalker perhaps, followed by a time-skip where she and/or Didi will dissapear from Boo-Bear's life. 'Course compared to the Saiyan-busters you've filled this story with, whatever experience Andy might gain before she returns might not amount to much...... I'll stop rambling now . Still, I think Andy's in for a rude awakening when GoGo finally (literally?) bears her claws and cracks open a case of whoopass. He hasn't REALLY seen her let loose yes, has he?

That's a really good observation, and an important thing to consider going forward with this type of story...I really don't want to get stuck being TOO dramatic, or do away with fluff and comedy.

I would stop caring if it was all about being serious, but as much fun as the comedy is, I think a steady diet of that would be just as bad. So i'll probably end up with an atonal structure that's a car-crash of both comedy and drama at odd intervals, but that seems a lot more fun all around So yes, probably fallout on the horizon, but also shenanigans and tomfoolery!

There's nothing unusual about maintaining a mix of serious and comedic. They can balance each other out and keep the audience on its toes by preventing the development of accurate expectations. Do drama, cool down with comedy, blindside with more drama. Becoming good at this can go a long way to making a good story.

"siamese dream" was the first Bomango strip I saw. I thought there would never be an attempt to have a dramatic arc and expected to always see these two girls dilly-dallying about in their little home. But after reading everything, Bomango feels more like a neighborhood than a room. Which is less than a world, but that's not a bad thing. Neither are rooms.

VanHeist In reply to RequestForgetMeNots [2011-08-18 18:48:28 +0000 UTC]

It's a bit suffocating, in retrospect. Whether literally or metaphorically, a lot of the stuff i've posted feels restricted to a small scale when there's potential for a lot more. On the other hand, it'll be a pleasant feeling to expand to a "world", like stepping outside after several days indoors

It's just this is very much one of those scenes that's intended to heavily imply something without tastelessly blaring it. Considering "Gogo Andy's" perspective on it as a parallel.

As you well know Van, I love Bomango, and you sir, are awesome...but I must remind you, if you do intend to make this into something more someday, you need to be careful not to reveal too much. Yer slippin' inta spoiler terraturry!

One of the dangers of doing too much of Bomango now, is that when you do make something more with it, will we know most of it already? Basically this is just another friendly 'be careful'. Laterz!

Valid concern. There are 2 people close to me who have had to suffer through my endless rantings about what I want to do with the story (thank God for them, they seem enthusiastic or fake it really well), and i'm fairly confident that there's still plenty of places to go without spoiling the tank dry And i'm really excited to share such things, but i'll try to keep a lid on what I can.
