THIS WEEK ON EGO GENEROSITY: GOGO HULKS OUT, IT TURNS OUT DIDI WAS EAVESDROPPING, PABLO IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND, AND WE HAVE AN EXCUSE TO REDIRECT US SOME DAMN LIGHTNING! (and also concussive force but whatevs, homey)
Apologies to those who figured Andy got pulverized in part 7. He might have had it coming, but Didders pulled a Gandalf and did a little Balrog-blockin'. And after all, who needs to die over this petty squabble when a few pulverized bones will wrap it up? A lesson is learned by all, no one is dead, and we all live happily ever after.
However, there is the issue with missing walls and doors now. Huh.

How to look badass almighty and absolutely controlled and elegant at the same time? Didi nailed it there.

Reading some comments I feel though having read this that her arm didn't seem to shatter but was probably hyper extended. Anyway she probably had to take the full brunt of a raging bull to simply keep her from killing Andy where under normal circumstances she would have probably deflected it or something. It's like Ang when he was saving Sokka by standing his ground against the Moose Lion.
The cute part be that as it may, is where Gogo despite being in a berserker rage still had sense enough to recognize Didi. Awww siblings <3
Love this series, and really enjoy the charactersΒ

I have to go back and read the others but I liked the lay out, action and effects. Great line work. The only complaint I have is a silly one: That house is not up to code. A wall socket that close to the sliding door. Dangerous. LOL!

Is it bad that i kinda want you to make another one with him being hit by Gogo, and being greatly if not fatally injured, just to see how Gogo would react after she realized what she had done?

Oh wait, nevermind guys; he is still alive.
All thanks to Didi's ability to channel Gogo's supernatural powers and Gogo's inefficient pose for any sort of punch.

I don't think Didi redirected the blunt force, more like absorbed it with her entire arm while redirecting the energy Gogo was giving off, which would explain why her arm would be so messed up.

I don't find it too mysterious, she is a clone of Gogo - makes sense that she'd have some inherent abilities.

Not to be hyper cynical, but to me, The idea of Gogo straight up attacking Andy seems a bit out of character for her, at least to me. If anything, it always seemed to me that she'd quite possibly be willing to risk her very safety to protect him, instead of wanting to kill one of the few people to give her the time of day and not to be straight up frightened or repulsed by her. At the very least, she would just punch out the wall, instead of wanting to hurt him.Β

That's a valid criticism for certain. There are a few unwieldy elements to this arc, and the idea of Gogo going wrathful on Andy is one of them. However, I don't feel it's *entirely* out of character, but instead a reminder that she might not always be able to check herself in the heat of the moment. That itself suggests an interesting but dangerous element going forward.
Still, it's on me to make it believable, and as you demonstrated, people will react differently. Thanks!

Man, I was curious by a few thumbnails of your work and thought your comics were cute and amazingly stylized. At first glance it was a nice treat......and then I kept reading.....and reading. Next page, next page, can't stop, so good.Β
Your characters are so likable, your style of drawing is captivating, and your comics are awesome, yet extremely deep. I'm just so addicted! Especially learning about your characters and then seeing the light-hearted, selfless, happy-go-lucky Didi take the bullet of pure, undisputed, lightning emotions!?!Β
The feels, man. Ouch.
Your awesome, m'kay? I hope to see more of these awesome escapades!Β

I think what I like most about this is the fairly realistic way everyone reacts to what Gogo just did. If this were a cheesecake anime then he'd just get some comical bruises while continuing to be a shithead. That kind of thing sends a doubly nasty message that a lady's feelings are unimportant and that the idea of women being able to harm men is laughable. Instead both parties realized that they were behaving inappropriately and made attempts to apologize and respect each others feelings. It's a message that I wish mainstream media would also pick up on. You're doing feminism proud, VanHeist!
Also, mandatory "Gogo is pretty hot" comment.

Geeze. Let me guess. Andy likes to juggle nitroglycerin bottles in his spare time. Why anyone would want to jerk around a woman who can literally go nuclear is beyond me. Heh, this gives the title "gripping family drama" a whole new twist.

It's a peculiarity of mankind. We know what's dangerous. We know that it's often best to leave the bear alone. But in spite of it all, sometimes man simply has to poke the bear. "ACKNOWLEDGE ME, BEAST!" It's a weird, counter-intuitive compulsion to push the boundaries and see how much sway you actually have. The risk being that it'll occasionally sway too far and the bear swats you like a trout

I often make the mistake of trying to quantify Gogo's power... Then I realize that, even if it wasn't probably futile, it defeats the whole point of the character.

I often think of "Akira" as a point of reference: a semi-contained super-organism that expresses itself in sometimes unexpected ways in Gogo's case, often through violent, emotional force, heh

a tear? You've only seen the least of what this site's artists have to offer, but thank you just the same.
These characters have been published in a limited capacity...Tokyopop's now-discontinued Rising Stars of Manga 6 (some many years ago if you can find it), and an even-less circulated college anthology volume called "Tastes Like Good: Power Lines" (even harder to find since most volumes sit in my garage, hehe) Otherwise, it's all here.

Ever think about scanning that anthology and adding it to the gallery? I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling sad that there's a Bomango story I'll never get to read, especially when your hoarding it all like a dragon and it's treasure pile.
