I have two theories as I said and
the first one is that
after Mabel refused to trust Dipper he's gonna isolate and loose trust towards everyone (TRUST NOONE) and it's gonna make him very vurnelable to a certain... golden flying triangle... And I think that, since said triangle possesed Dipper once, he has a power to somehow influence him, not really possesing again but more like... whispers in your head? Voices, putting everything in doubt? I think Dipper managed to pretend it isn't happening but now that he won't have anything to rely on anymore, he's gonna give in ;;
seCOND THEORY TIIIMEEE
So remember how the shapeshifter showed Dipper his last pose and DippER MADE THIS POSE IN EPISODE ABOUT NORTHWEST' MANSION... And I think that after he woke up it was Bill all along? Because he CAN take over people's bodies, but I think that he only can do it if they are dead or somehow unconcious?? So Dipper being changed into a wood seems like a nice opportunity. He's been acting a little Bill-ish since that episode, keeping his hands like Bipper used to and being so URGENT about Mabel shutting it doWN AND REFUSING TO EVEN GIVE McG..GLU...THIS CRAZY BEARDED GUY A MINUTE WHEN he said he's got something interesting and it was about the laptop... Dipper? Who spent DAYS AND NIGHTS trying to get the password? Now saying he wants to party and leaving the oldie ?? REALLY?
Plus after this scene we see an image of Bill C. over people who are like... praying... to a burning tree?
It all seems suspucious to me
but what I know for now

Wow! Your second theory makes a whole lot of sense when I read. You're right. It is odd that Dipper would dismiss Mcgucket after he had been trying so hard to retrieve the password in sock opera. Maybe Bill is possessing Dipper. Awesome theory, my friend.
