Hey everyone,So um...I watched a playthrough video of Sonic and the Black Knight on Youtube the other day, and was inspired by Shadow as Lancelot (OBVIOUSLY). lol Among other things, but I decided to play off that.
So this comic is a combination of two different ideas from Shadow as Lancelot, actually. The original idea I've wanted to draw ever since I first heard Shadow was announced as Lancelot was the Spamalot cross over. If you didn't know, "Spamalot" is a Monty Python musical (that is absolutely hilarious, go check it out), and in the storyline Lancelot ends up with some Lord's son. So, they since the song "His Name is Lancelot". Just, just listen to it! And you'll get the joke in the last panel. It was kind of obscure, but I hope some people get it!
The second idea came a couple days ago when I did some research into Lancelot after finishing watching Sonic and the Black Knight... I noticed "Lancelot and Guenivere" was a popular Google search, so I looked it up, and found out the true story. I started giggling...It was perfect! I originally wanted to do a picture of Lancelot and (Luna as) Guenivere, because it well, kind of perfectly worked out. And I thought I was so original. So original it hurt. But then I did a quick dA search, and found out I was beat by oh, about a hundred other fangirls.
Sooo I decided to circumvent that and insert Luna in my own way as well as include the "His Name is Lancelot" idea by creating this comic!
FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT DO NOT KNOW THE STORY OF LANCELOT AND GUENIVERE:
-Lancelot is King Arthur's most loyal knight, however he and King Arthur's wife, Guenivere, fall in love and become lovers. Um, so yeah--the story behind this comic is that Lancelot went on a quest for Arthur and has come back, finally ready to secretly elope with Guenivere, but Arthur has already found out about their affair.. And in this comic, Guenivere has um...changed since Lancelot last saw her.
*The strange thing in the 5th panel is supposed to be King Arthur as he appears in Sonic and the Black Knight. But, I couldn't find any clear pictures of him and was too lazy to try very hard since I would probably never ever draw him again in my life, so..um...yes. There's your explanation.
Shoot...I just realized that Shadow is holding a photo of Luna (Guenivere). They probably didn't have cameras in the Medieval Ages.........SHUT UP.
But they probably didn't have rocket shoes either, SO THERE.

If it makes you feel better, I did not notice the "photo" thing until you mentioned it!
I love Big's goofy grin the penultimate panel, like "...hey, don't blame me!"
You did a good job rendering Shadow in armor, too. Almost looks like you got this right from the game.
Did you make up the bit in the last panel, or did the song-and-dance bit come from something?

The last panel is a reference to the Monty Python musical, "Spamalot". I'm pretty sure I mentioned this in the description, but it's a song and dance number from the show and I wanted to draw it with Shadow, but was too lazy for a full size picture (especially since the idea's been festering on my mind for years now).
