This is my character Fingal that I introduced to you in two earlier pictures - I hope you remember him! He is responsible for time and death in Rayman's world as well for creating red lums.
During the times when Rayman 2 game took place - which means while Razorbeard spread havoc and terror, at the very beginning of the occupation, Fingal decided to go to Razorbeard's headquarters to give him a warning. The scene was omething like this - [link] . This way Fingal was forced to work for Razorbeard and he was a very precious prisoner since broken robopirates could be easly repaired by putting red lums into their heads. It was tough for Fingal, reeeaaally, workign against his will and making the situation outside even worse.
He wasn't freed by Rayman, instead he escaped by himself by slowly rasping his horns day by day. At the end of war he looked like this [link] .
And yes, the skull isn't exactly a mask - it's a part of his face, he can't take it off.
