Oh~ this is really good!
I love the touch of ice and raspberries at the bottom of the bottle.
I especially like the lighting. The lights hit the bottle just right so that it's nice and symmetric with the shape and the lights/reflections. I suggest you try some blueberry vodka, it's yummy.

Awesome color and great use of focus. The only critique I have is about the composition of the ice and raspberry's. I don't like the way it is cut off on the edge's, the way the ice is pile up with sloping sides, it makes me think that the ice is a little island, but since its cut off on the left edge it makes that section of the photo seem awkward. You could either take a wider shot so you get all of the ice in the shot as well as about an inch on either side, or pile the ice up in a uniform pile. I also agree with ~beatmechanik about the dark raspberry in the middle.
I hope these suggestions help, beautiful photography you've got there.
^_^

It looks fantastic. I want some! ...Unfortunately, I'll have to wait until I'm of legal age. You'd make a great photographer for selling products. This picture works.

I don't even drink and that's appetizing. I'm sorry I can't offer anything productive... the photo's way beyond my photographic knowledge! Not only is it nicely lit and shot, you placed the objects in very appealing positions and focused them beautifully. The raspberries make the photo, in my opinion, though the slight spiral on the glass is also really nice.

Why the martini glass. Unless I missed the part where you made your flavored vodka into a martini. If you are just gonna have normal vodka shouldn't you use the correct glass?

i like the picture, but i don't get the point of flavoring vodka, it's supposed to be a flavorless alcohol.

I'm not much of a vodka drinker, but my dad loves Stoly (Stolichnaya) Vodka. ANyways, looks very good, proper product placement, decoration to accentuate the color and texture of said product; very nice work.

vanlec In reply to band-aid [2006-07-05 09:31:19 +0000 UTC]
wow, um it was almost a yea ago, but....basially i had to light the bottle to get the sliks with a softbox on one side and a refletor on the other for the smaller slik. then i had a black bakground with a snoot and a red gel over the front so the light would be a reddish colour. my letures said that it would basially be impossible to light the bottle with the sliks and light up the front of the bottle for the text. so i took the shot then i changed the lighting setup to light the label of the bottle and took that shot, and in photoshop just masked in the lable which was properly lit. And that is about it lol!!!!

ritzcrackaa In reply to vanlec [2007-02-23 21:55:57 +0000 UTC]
if you use a softbox on each side of the bottle, enough light would be feathered in to light the label properly..
nice shot, i like the spacing between the glass in the background and the bottle in the forground, just enough tension is created to make it work well. the ice looks a little dull and lacks definition, probably my only complaint about the shot.

vanlec In reply to ritzcrackaa [2007-02-25 03:16:30 +0000 UTC]
i think the reason why the ice lacks definition is that it would melt so fast under the lights, as soon as i placed it all in and put the berries on top their was already a pool of water, but i do kind of like how it melted a bit.
