A piece created for Issue 17 of Digital Artist Magazine, coming to a Borders/Barnes & Noble near you sometime next month!I finished this a couple days after FC2011 when I was sick and sicker, so I am sad that it's a bit more rushed and wobbly than I would like, but BOY! Did I have a blast with this assignment! The article is about painting in monochrome, specifically, Cobalt Blue. The CD included with this month's magazine has the full size line art for this painting.

I just love the colors and the dragon is like epic win !
Althought I think the crystal balls could have a more reflective and sphere effect.
But this is definetly one of my favorite piece of all time !

i requested this as a print. I know its for a magazine article, but lets say i couldn't get ahold of my own copy (or just wished to have a good print of this) how can I get one?

I'm not sure what you mean. The lines I submitted is a cleaned up sketch that I painted under, so it is s little different from the finished piece. I hope that helps!

okay, what i meant (and shoulda said it) is if the drawing is just the dragons body with the fish and the artist would have to add the water or bg or what have you

i really like this. its so relaxing. I'm glad you used blue to contrast with the seemingly chaotic movement going on. It actually looks like its silent despite all the energy expressed here
