Description
The droghte of March hath perced to the rooteAnd bathed every veyne in swich licour,
Of which vertu engendred is the flour;
Whan Zephirus eek with his sweete breeth
Inspired hath in every holt and heeth
The tendre croppes, and the yonge sonne
Hath in the Ram his halfe cours yronne,
And smale foweles maken melodye
That slepen al the nyght with open eye-
(So priketh hem Nature in hir corages);
Thanne longen folk to goon on pilgrimages
And palmeres for to seken straunge strondes
To ferne halwes, kowthe in sondry londes;
And specially from every shires ende

A bookmark design for the Werewolf Calender project!
Later this year I will post my finished painting for 2012. This was painted in Painter X. I was very inspired by this lovely photo:
Work for the same calendar project:

amazing! i have found me in the closest thing florida has to a secluded forest sometimes, and stared at the wildlife, listening to my favorite songs, and not forgetting entirely about society or anything else, until my phone rings and my mom calls me home (im still only 15). this is an absolutely beautiful piece,the colors are so vivid, the only person that can compare is my art teacher (best class in da world!) and the oinly thing i can say bad about it is not being able to under stand the poem in the description. >.< again, really good with moss, fur and pretty much every thing else!

This piece feels like a breath of fresh air. The moss on the rocks feels fuzzy and full of life, the fur on the wolf feels realistic and accurate, and the rocks are colored and textured very very well. The intricate details draw my eye from the wolf's face down to the first hummingbird, but unfortunately stop at the golden background.
The trees back there feel as if they are part of a different piece. Most of this bookmark is highly detailed and textured, whereas the trees and grass in the back are flatly colored, but hold enough contrast in value and color saturation that my eyes are brought here more than the rest of the piece. To push the trees farther back, lower the value contrast. The saturation level can stay put, because it gives this artwork a rich and warm sensation (which is fantastic).
A couple more smaller critiques include the placement of the leftmost hummingbird - the dark and light of the rock behind it are more intense that the hummingbird itself, which confuses the eye into thinking they are squished together. This could be amended by lightening the shadowed rock beneath the hummingbird, so that the bird pops forward.
The wolf's arm is amazingly rendered, but the place the foot comes out is uneven with the arm - making it appear that the foot is growing out of the wolf's head. An easier way to fix this is by upping the impact that the head/neck fur receives from bending around the foot. In a nutshell, more division between the foot shape and the head/neck shape.
I adore this piece. It gives me an odd feeling of nostalgia and reminds me of fantastical daydreams. Great stuff - this is a magnificent show of skill. Keep it up!

This is such a bautiful piece - there are so much details, like inΒ your otherΒ artworks.
Really awesome and great work.
May I ask you what resolution the original size has. With all your details it might be big.

Gorgeous as usual vantid. Love the details and the composition and coloring.
Since critique is on though and I dislike the layout of the critique system, I'll comment here.
The only thing I spot that looks a bit unusual is the discontinuity of the arm and hand as well as the lack of displacement of the neck and head.
The following photo is a bit of an exaggeration but notice how the neck and face folds are displaced by the placement of the foreleg.

This is a more accurate example though it does not show the realistic displacement the arm would have on the wolf's left eye (viewer's right) in that location

Ah! The finished project at last! I absolutely loved watching the livestream of this piece and I adore the final look.
The details are intricate but not overbearing and I love the positioning of the wolf and birds according to the Rule of Thirds.

8D! This is looking fantastic! I'm just loving all those little details this has and fff those hummingbirds! They're so cute! c8
I can't really spot many mistakes but the moss on the "further" rock on the right side could probably be a bit more detailed. Not much but a bit.
Other than that, I fail to spot anything that'd be wrong. D:
