Description
Another colored pencil piece, another bad scan. Hopefully folks will see it better at the AC art show! I am still trying to figure out light and shadow color combinations while still retaining texture and form. Egh!About 7 by 7.5 inches, Prismacolor pencils and Art Stix on white 250 gsm Stonehenge paper. I welcome critiques!

You have some amazing skills with coloured pencils! 
Have you used Stonehenge paper much? I've wanted to try it but I'm having trouble finding some. I'm wondering if it's worth buying online or if there's another type of paper that works well with coloured pencils.

Thank so much! The hinders are a stance canines often take, though I do think the furthest one should look more level.
I've only just started using the Stonehenge. Some samples came with my copy of The Colored Pencil Painting Bible and I like it, and I do recommend it. I prefer Daler Rowney cartridge paper, but I can't find it anymore.

Maybe it's the level of the futhest paw throwing me, and the fact that I'm not so familiar with canine stances.
I just ordered The Colored Pencil Painting Bible a few weeks ago from amazon. I didn't realise till after that I could have bought it directly from the artist with paper samples - clever me. Sucks that you can't get your preferred paper anymore. Anyways, thanks heaps for the reply! I shall persist with my search for Stonehenge paper.

Looks stunning.
I love the way you use pencils, they seem to be pastel-like.
The head and front part of the body looks quite realistic, and very beautiful. The warm colors bend so well together.
I have a bit of a problem with the hind legs, especially the right leg- it seems a bit out of place, though I can't really explain why.

Ooo, I love this.
You managed to make her/him very expressive without losing the very realistic look. A lot of more detailed paintings of foxes or other wildlife seem to suggest "this is just an animal", whereas this piece both makes her a realistic fox, and yet gives her a lot of personality.
