So... You know that picture I submitted over a month ago? Yeah, it was one of a few that I had in mind. I was going to use them to make a custom lyric video (or something to that effect) for the song "Someone Like Me" by Aviators (link below). After dragging my feet for so long, I finally finished the different "frames" I was thinking of using, and decided to submit them in an animated sequence.At this point, I don't know if I'll continue with this project. Fluttershy doesn't looks as cute as I would've liked; something seems off, and I just have this nagging feeling that I can do better. Even with my ponysona, I feel like I messed up a few details, which is kinda depressing because I didn't alter much on him between frames!
In any case, should I make improvements to this I'll update/edit this deviation accordingly.Also, to those of you on computers with smaller screens, sorry the dimensions are so large; just zoom your browser out to see the whole thing

as for making fluttershy a bit cuter, it may be in your best interest to do these: increase hoof size (NOT leg thickness) thin out the neck a bit. the smile could be moved upward just a tiny bit, and curve upwards and around a bit more. on her eyes, make the little white circles MUCH bigger, like over exaggerate it, and make them more circular? then you can add tiny white specks and maybe even a tiny little transparent star or butterfly. Cute is best achieved by overexaggerating size. try puffing up her mane and tail.
personally, i like the small changes in each frame of your character. but, if you want it to be more consistent like you say, try literally copying and pasting parts and then rotating/moving the part to go with the changes. however, it usually looks better to look unprofessional in my opinion.
dont overthink it! keep up the work, you're doing marvelously!

Maybe I'll take another crack at this in the future while keeping your suggestions in mind. I really should stop trying to mimic the show's style too. I mean, I like the show's style, but I can't recreate it perfectly, and those small details that I mess up irritate me lol. (I'm also too stubborn to use bases or screenshots, so that doesn't help haha XD )
But whatever. My ultimate goal is to find my own style, not get good at an established one.

i think your mimicking the show style and being a bit off from it is your style. it looks good to me. of course, you cant improve if i keep saying everything is good though, right? im an art enthusiast, virtually EVERYTHING looks good to me. so, ill leave you with this. go ask one of your friends that is not into MLP to rate it, and why. they'll be the most unbiased source most likely. their comments will be more helpful than mine heh

Yeah, I'd agree that my friends who aren't into MLP would be the most unbiased judges. Maybe I'll inquire to someone. Or just keep working in solitude. Lol
