Phew. This guy was a monster of a sprite to make. *bricked for bad pun*Before you say "But Vaporchu, he doesn't look like a Pokemon sprite!" well, yeah, I realize that. However, if you look closely, it is a Pokemon sprite: the same shading style(and light source), sprite size, and number of colors in its pallet. It merely has heavy dithering to give the illusion of scales. So...I guess it is a highly detailed Pokemon style sprite. If that makes any sense.
The sprite is a full scratch, with reference for the dorsal fins coming from the NES Godzilla sprite. The pallet is mostly pulled from Godzilla Kaijuu Daikessen, a Japanese-only SNES game.

Yep. Although, I did base a few of the spines from other sprites(more specifically, like two from the NES Godzilla game and one from Godzilla Kaiju Daikessen), but they are rather different, to the point that the only semblence they have to the bases is the basic shape.

It looks really detailed,the scales give it that illusion of being more complex then it maybe be.
