Mona, my favorite NPC from Shovel Knight. Now that is a game where a lot is being done right. Good story, characters, a fine level of difficulty that goes up if you want to pursue the Challenge Mode, but the main campaign's tough enough for casuals to enjoy without feeling babied. But the best so far is the Plague of Shadows bonus campaign, which was quite satisfying to finish.
