Process GIF for Sakura, here:
This is a basic overview of my process.
1) Pencilled lineart.
2) Color flats
3) Grayscale underpainting
4) Color flats layered on grayscale, using Color layer mode
5) Flatten everything (or just copy everything onto a new layer), then detailed painting, adding colors, and other fixes
6) Additional details
7) A black shadow layer over everything, then making highlights using a Layer Mask with the circular Gradient tool-- finished!
