He also played in "Shogun" based on James Clavell book of the same title. He was brilliant in the role of Lord Toranaga. However, the best roles and their art appeared in films by Akira Kurosawa.

Toshiro Mifune was great in the Samurai Trilogy. Love all of his movies,however the trilogy is my favorite.

That guy is one of the most intense actors I've ever seen. Everyone always talks about Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Heath Ledger but I never hear anyone talk about Mifune.
