I think about how reliant we all are on social media today compared to just 10 years ago, and imagine where it's headed.

I've been watching this girl play video games for hours-upon-hours now while listening to lofi hiphop on YouTube. I've developed in my head an entire concept surrounding her attitude and relationship to her surroundings. I'm honestly a little annoyed at the artist's own interpretation of his own work (death of the author amairite). Could she not simply be on an extremely long interstellar voyage? Even if we do manage near or faster than light travel, trips between regions of space are still likely to take a very long time. Maybe she's manning the systems while the other crewmates rest in hypersleep. What else is she supposed to do to pass the time? Or maybe this is her unwind time after a long day of physical and mental training. She's physically fit enough to suggest she keeps her body in top shape. Also the level of casualness she demonstrates is simply legendary. I aspire to one day be in such a state of calm that I can feel how she looks. The only flub in my opinion is the shoes. You should have made her barefoot or in socks to finish out the maximum comfort level.
I honestly haven't encountered anyone in real life who is missing their own life thanks to technology and social media. Sure, there exist your occasional hikikomori, but that's still pretty rare. I am not convinced that we or people prior to our generation were more engaged previously than we are now. There have always been obsessives, shut-ins, the aloof and unaware. But our use of social media doesn't indicate that we are missing our own lives. It is just another experience, just another part of our life experience.
Anyway, art 9/10, artists politics 3/10.

What I like most about this artwork is the contrast between how cozy her ship feels and how vast the universe outside is. It also, coupled with her expression, makes us immediately aware that she is in complete peace and isolation, floating cozily in the void of space.

I like the message, and the art is perfect. I feel like you captured both the positive and negative aspects of our modern fixation on technology. On one hand, she's in a spaceship surrounded by mind-blowing beauty on an awe-inspiring scale, but she seems oblivious to her surroundings and is consumed by her 2d electronic world--so sort of negative. On the other hand, she looks so kicked back and chill that I envy her relaxed, "meh, no big deal" attitude. I feel like she may have struck the balance between obsessively refreshing pages for status updates and becoming a full blown rage-against-the-machine Luddite. Very cool, thank you for sharing.

I made this aspired by your drawing, I really like it, it brings me back, It has such a rich context, almost like being immersed in different elements of anime and media, the girl just shows so much reason and possibility in wait. I searched the internet from a vaporwave youtube channel with this picture animated as a gif. ..not sure if you did that or not. I do, do animation and graphic arts.
