In ancient Greek mythology, Amphitrite (not to be confused with Aphrodite) was a sea-goddess. Under the influence of the Olympian pantheon, she became merely the consort of Poseidon, and was further diminished by poets to a symbolic representation of the sea.

Η Αμφιτρίτη ήταν η θεά της θάλασσας, σύζυγος του Ποσειδώνα. Ήταν μια από τις πενήντα Νηρηίδες ή απλά η θηλυκή προσωποποίηση της θάλασσας, η μητέρα των ψαριών, των φαλαινών και των δελφινιών. Σύμφωνα με τη "Θεογονία" του Ησίοδου, ήταν κόρη του Νηρέα και της Δωρίδας, αλλά κατά τον Απολλόδωρο ήταν κόρη του Ωκεανού και της Τηθύος. Ακόμα όμως και ο Απολλόδωρος την κατατάσσει ανάμεσα στις Νηρηίδες.
Ο Ποσειδώνας και η Αμφιτρίτη είχαν ένα γιο, τον Τρίτωνα.
