As for recommendations.. I know you like Monster? Well I've come across a few that were either on the same level or beat it; Berserk... That's my number 1 recommendation. You might also like Gungrave.. Both of those just excell in characters and depth which is why I love them..

well your hard work paid off!!
i have wanted to watch berserk for a while now..but someone told me that the anime was not nearly as good as the manga, after which i think i lost a little interest 
never heard of gungrave before. it sounds badass 
well, what about tokyo ghoul? i noticed that you've been drawing a lot of fan art from it.. i watched the first episode a while ago, and it came off as a bit attack on titan-ish to me. is it worth the watch?

Yes I've also heard that.. I think the anime just omitted a few smaller plot lines and characters, oh and it has a major cliff hanger at the end with no follow up, which is why people turn to the manga in the first place..
Gungrave is pretty badass but it's full of feels so you'd better prepare for that
As for tokyo ghoul, you're pretty much correct with that assumption.. it lacked character development and felt rushed, which makes sense since they condensed over 70 chapters into 12 episodes.. I wouldn't recommend it unless you read the manga. That's why I draw fan art, the art itself is quite beautiful in my opinion :]

And I'm watching Rose of Versailles atm, which shows a female military commander's life up to and during the French revolution⦠it's an epic historic tale, probably the best storytelling I've come across in an anime.
