Actually Dragons can pretty much breed with anything and Half-Dragons are usually considered a powerful addition. Ahuizotl seems to be some kind of Dog....

First off, you speak like someone who has never seen reptilian genetalia before. If you had, you would understand that no, dragons cannot just breed with anything, and no mammal would have such an appendage inside them if their lives depended on it. (Indeed, their lives probably depend on NOT having such an appendage inside them.)
But my second point is not that ponies CAN not breed with dragons, Sparity herself is proof that they can. My point is that they SHOULD not breed with dragons. Dragons are a monsterous race who, since time immemorial, have killed ponykind, destroyed their cities, and stolen their possessions to be used as a bed. You might say that Spike is an exception, considering that he was raised by ponies, but I believe his actions on his birthday, wherein he became corrupted by typical dragon greed and rage and rapidly matured into a massive killing machine in the middle of ponyville, proves otherwise.
I say that it is paramount that we no longer greet dragonkind with friendship and tolerance, but with the hatred and persecution that they deserve! The dragons of the world must be exterminated in the cruelest and most violent ways possible!

Oh, I know about Reptilian genitalia. It's however also stated in Mythology that Dragons can somehow mate with other animals, including humans. Given that MLP also seems to follow the D&D setting, it should be noted that they exclusively encountered Chromatic Dragons, not the friendly Metallic Dragons. ( In both cases refering to their color )

Interesting assessment. I am interested as to why you believe that MLP seems to follow the D&D setting (also curious as to which edition, Equestria looks nothing like Eberron, so definitely not 4th) though I have already stated that ponies SHOULD not be mating with dragons, not that they can not. Dragons are obviously a blight upon any civilized society, leaving only destruction and immolation in their wake. This is especially true considering your statement about Chromatic Dragons; if they really have only encountered chromatic dragons, as opposed to a friendlier type of dragons, then it stands to reason that all dragons, Spike and Sparity included, will possess the same aggressive tendencies as the rest of their vile kin.

It's more about the fauna than the general setting. Pretty much every creature in the show appears in the Monster Manual, and I think one official comic mentioned an Owlbear.
Chromatic Dragons are often not completely evil. Sure they have a lawful evil alignment, but often can be reasoned with. Purple Dragons have an interest in exploration.

Well, I think it is silly to criticize an author for the choices they made on a character. In this version, here Dash was a lesbian, that is fine. It is Vavacung's vision, I say let Vavacung have it.

It may have to do with her having a tom-boy personality. Add the rainbow mane and tail (rainbow represents the LGBTQ community) and you have her being implied as a lesbian/bisexual
