Wow, so many proponents for the death penalty without a judge and jury; those that are applauding his death are frightening pieces of work.
Did Alter deserve punishment? Absolutely, what he did was at minimum Assault and Battery. Did he deserve live cremation? Not according to my implementation of the judge(Crime) -> Punishment function.
Assuming that the author is going to continue with this line of events (I'm hoping so), then what is done is done, and I look forward to seeing what happens. Sparity killed Alter in cold blood for a very petty reason (she was more upset about her first kiss being stolen, most likely due to all of the novels she spent reading that built up silly expectations that young immature people bear), and by saying "Die!" she clearly knew what she was doing.
I'm curious what would happen next. Will Sparity own up to what she done and stand trial? Or will she become a runner? If the latter, then will her parents protect her and stand up against Twilight (and become accessories)? Renounce her? Beg her to turn herself in?
