You can't know that because you haven't seen every iota of Celestia's life, so saying Celestia is not an earth pony because you haven't seen canon Celestia as child.

"canon" tia.. how about real as u n me tia! tia has always been an alicorn! and i dont care what anyone else says on this earth; I know my friends well. i dont mind them making her earth she still is cute. i'm just saying what i know. even if everyone on earth may think i am off my rocker.. i'm not. i have a gift and i use it for the good of everything. i just telling how it is. she in real life has always been an alicorn. They can 'make' her earth in their comic. i dont care its what ever they want to do is fine with me. i'm just saying that i know that the real tia, the real Celestia was always and alicorn. that is all. i still like the comic. its awesome. and tia is so cute any way u look at her >w<.

There isn't a "real" Tia outside the show. Tia can't possibly be as real as say, you or I because she's a fabrication of Faust's imagination. And you can't be Tia's friend because Tia is a fictional character. It's like saying saying I'm friends with Twilight. I would love to be friends with Twi, but sadly she's a character in a animated show.

Actually according to the journal of the two sisters novel(which is cannon), they were always Alicorns her and Luna, they were just born that way.
I suppose that means they are technically mutants.XD

There's different levels of canon, such as the show, the comics and other media, the merchandise such as toys and other things, and then head canons and fanworks. I'm pretty sure the canonicity of the Journal of the Two Sisters probably ins't even taken into consideration when episodes are written. Twilight was unicorn. Candance was a pegasus. Who's to say Celestia and Luna were not alicorns besides some book I don't care to read and peoples' head canon?
