The Arclight Space Frame, used by both Civilian (Passenger Liners, Cargo Transports, etc.) and Military organizations, is a reliable and multi-function platform for Space travel.

This Particular Arclight Cruiser has been heavily modified and given a substantial increase in armour, weapons, shields, reactor capacity, and engine performance. These modifications were performed by an Automated Shipyard created by a previously unknown Elder Race. This ship can now be considered somewhere between Class 13 and Class 15 (It's Planet Cracker would make it an automatic Class 15 if the weapon was known to exist).

*****Most ships in the Freelancer Campaign Setting use normal rules for space travel, ships need to speed up, then slow down. Ships tend to do this by rotating around and using their engines to break speed. This is how Standard Arclight Cruisers maneuver.*****
One of the modifications made to this Arclight Cruiser by the Elder Race Automated Shipyard was to improve the stock engines as well as adding an internal Inertia Drive. The Inertia Drive is a unidirectional propulsion system that can speed up or slow down a ship in any direction without need to re-orient the ship in any way.

As part of the modifications, this ship has a telepathic neural link system that connects directly to the Captain, as well as an advanced Sudo-AI (similar to the VI's from Mass Effect). The Sudo-AI has a personality that is tailored to the Captain, allowing for a friendly relationship between the two. The Sudo-AI is needed to help operate the ship, which has been completely automated and only required the Captain to operate (while still having the space and accommodations to house a crew of 200 with guest space for 50 more). To implement the neural link system and become the Captain, a person must undergo a procedure to implant a Nano-hive in their brain.

The Nano-hive is a small artificial structure that contains, connects, controls, and coordinates nanites that become part of the person the hive in implanted in. The Nano-hive connects to the brain, creating a link between the living mind and a digital webwork. This increases the Memory capacity and perception of the user without altering their personality or damaging their physical brain (they are hard coded, physically, to only interact with the brain of the person that they are implanted in and cannot be controlled or hijacked by outside forces. However it is possible to change the hardcoding before implanting and using them to influence or control others. This is Advanced Elder Race Technology and most Elder Races put in blocks to prevent this from happening. This may (or may not) have been done by the Observers to their Enforcers to keep them loyal). The user gains the ability to access receptive neural networks as well as gaining a configurable HUD & other Augmented Reality visualizations.
The nanites also work in the body to repair damaged tissue and expel harmful toxins & organisms. The repairing of damaged tissue will naturally extend the life of the user, making them effectively immortal in the longevity sense (and the increased memory in the Nano-hive helps manage the mental stress from an extended lifespan) and be able to perfectly repair physical damage down to the DNA level. The Nano-hive will map the users genome and if the User live for several centuries, the Nano-hive will rewrite that genome, removing any junk DNA (DNA no longer needed by the user or DNA gained by natural viral interference/infection from the user's ancestors) and rewriting the parts of DNA that are beneficial in the early years of life but create issues later on (this is why the Elder Race that build the Automated Shipyard are no longer around, the DNA  recoding/Rewriting is on a person by person basis, meaning that after a while you are no longer genetically compatible with your original species, let alone others who have undergone this process).
The nanites will over time completely replace the existing micro bio-sphere in the user (replacing the normally present gut microbiota/gut flora/microbiome/microorganisms including bacteria, archaea and fungi that live in the digestive tracts of humans), and regulate the digestive tract more efficiently. The nanites will also augment the users immune system making them virtually immune to any form of contamination or infection.
After several years, the skin on the users body will begin to have glowing blue patters emerge, these patterns will be made up of half-inch stripes (that never overlap) usually starting at the chest and move out, symmetrically, down the limbs and up the face (usually only on the cheeks and the back of the neck). These stripes will generate a shield that is capable of stopping vehicle mounted weapons fire (but not ship based) and can protect the user in hazardous environments for extended periods (several Hours to days depending on the environment). The Nanites can process water and CO2 back into O2 and Glucose for a few days before diminishing returns make this unfeasible (with a supply of materials this can last indefinably, meaning that survival in space is limited to a few days, but survival on a world can be longer).


The ship does have a complement of 100 service drones (humanoid androids) and 50 specialty drones (variously shaped for special needs, i.e. Dog shaped for scouting & pest control, Octopus shaped for maintenance and repair, Oversized Gorilla shaped for cargo handling and anti-boarding, etc). These drones also have the side benefit of helping keep the Crew's mental health stable (in the case of a small crew, or only the Captain), on top of them being able to any work needed on the ship. While appearing Humanoid (or in other shapes) they do not have defined features, instead resembling dolls or manikins (but not creepy).



Weapons

- Quad Barrel Energized Particle Launchers (x12)
The Energized Particle Launchers fire a dense mass of volatile exotic matter particles that damage or destroy almost anything they come in contact with. The energy projectile is effective against most known forms of Shielding and Hull Armour, and depending on the amount of power used, is capable of disabling or destroying targeted vessels. This ship usually only fires at 2% capacity, which is comparable to high end weapons systems readily available for a ship its size.

- Missile Launchers (x6 Launchers, x400 Missiles)
The Missile Launchers are set into the bow behind armoured panels that only open when the Launchers are ready to fire.
The ship carries 3 kinds of missiles:
1 - Guided Cluster Missiles (x75), These missiles are a grouping of one large missile with 20 smaller sub-missiles attached. When the missiles guidance systems (or the ships guidance systems via relay) identify a target (and sub-targets), the 20 sub missiles will detach and home in on sub-targets under their own power. The sub-missiles will attempt to damage or disable all identified defensive systems, allowing the main missile to impact its target un-impeded. The weapon yield (low power to extremely high power) and type (Conventional explosive, Nuclear explosive, EMP, Grapeshot {used to either overwhelm shields or sensors depending on loadout}, etc.) may be set lower or higher depending on the situation.
2 - EMP/Ion Pulse Missiles (x75), These missiles are designed to disrupt the power of most spacecraft. Depending on the charge, they can temporarily disrupt or outright destroy any electronic/technological systems not protected by powerful shields. There is a 50/50 chance that these missiles will work on organic ships, but they will only disable those ships and not cause lasting damage.
3 - Hunter Killer Missiles (x250), These missiles are the standard type of guided missile with a variable yield payload. They are virtually the same design for every race that has ever advanced missile tech into space combat, with only upgrades/differences in housing materials, engine specs, guidance systems, and explosive yield. The HK Missiles for this ship are capable of being much more powerful that the current average, but they are still basically the same as every other version ever made.

- Point Defence & Anti-Fighter Flack Turrets (x170)
These Turrets provide Defence against Missiles, Fighter craft, Boarding craft, and Smaller ships. They provide a 360 degree sphere of coverage and have an effective range of 50,985.72 Km or 0.17 Light Seconds. These types of weapons can be considered the equivalent to small arms fire as they usually only do enough damage to destroy low or un-shielded ships/missiles (or other small dangers like asteroids), however the PDAF Turrets on this ship, like the Energized Particle Launchers, are much stronger than the average, and at full power can compare to the output of the main armament for a ship this size.  

- Kinetic Bombardment Cannon (KBC) or Rock Thrower (located on the Ventral Hull)
Fires large metal slugs at a Planetary or Geo-Stationary target (objects without engines capable of significant movement). Usually ineffective against ships except in extreme close range. KBC Slugs (or Rocks) usually impact with the force of an extremely high yield nuclear weapon

- Planet Cracker (this PC is camouflaged as part of the KBC)
There are various types of Planet Cracker weapons, however they are generally too expensive and time consuming to create. This vessel's Kinetic Bombardment Cannon is capable of firing Super-Luminal rounds that increase the damage potential by a factor of 300,000 and is capable of blasting 15% to 25% of the material away from an Earth sized planet. Unlike a standard KBC, This Planet Cracker is capable of targeting ships and other objects that would normally be able to avoid the incoming projectile. Sensors (except those of an Elder Race) will only register a KBC shot and not a Super-Luminal round, which will hit the target before it can register that a Super-Luminal weapon was fired. The Super-Luminal round is capable of traveling 100 AU in under 5 seconds.



Sensors

Located on the tips of the "Wings", the Arclight Cruiser's Sensors provide 360 degree coverage and depending on the hardware installed can scan between 5 and 100 AU. The Sensors of this ship have been upgrade by the Elder Race giving them impressive range and power. They also appear to only be surface scans except to other Elder Race sensors.
Automated Shipyard and have 4 types of sensors:
1 - Long Range Sensors (between .5 and 5 light years)
These Long Range Sensors can provide real time location and silhouette data on objects (including ships) and phenomena within 5 light years of the ship. This makes it possible to plot FTL courses to other stars, detect objects & ships, and even set targets with the Planet Cracker (which travels at around 1 light year per hour, give or take)
2 - Medium Range Sensors (between 120 AU and .5 light years)
These Medium Range Sensors can provide in depth surface scans objects and ships, as well as detailed scans phenomena within .5 light years of the ship. These scans can be used to provide extremely accurate models of ships and objects (including topographical details like mountains, rivers, cities, weapon emplacements, engine locations, hull deformations, etc.). They can also provide information on phenomena like size, type, nature, and other characteristics.
3 - Close Range Sensors (between 1 and 120 AU)
These Close Range Sensors are able to penetrate most materials and give a general idea of the interiors of ships, building , and other structures. They can determine the presence of lifeforms (but not number or type). And they can  
4 - Extreme Close Range Sensors (up to 1 AU)
These Extreme Close Range Sensors are able to scan to the core of celestial bodies, perfectly scan the interiors of Ships, buildings, and other structures, as well as identify individual life forms (including detailed metical data down to the DNA level). They can be used to detect components and cargo, as well as identify concealed spaces and weapons systems.



Auxiliary Craft
***Note: The Elder Race Automated Shipyard has upgraded and enhanced all of the auxiliary craft, as well as the ships manufacturing abilities (meaning that new parts, and even whole new auxiliary craft, can be created by the ship, and are faster, stronger, and more advanced that normal). All of the auxiliary craft can take at least a dozen direct hits from the average capital class weapons system before being heavily damaged or destroyed.***

- Transport Shuttle (x2)
Used to transport Cargo and/or Personnel to and from the ship. This craft has minimal weapons but strong armour and shields. Can be used for boarding enemy vessels. Can be operated by remote, or completely autonomously.

- Drone Fighter (x10)
These Drone Fighters are controlled by the ships Sudo-AI and are generally used as escorts for the Transport Shuttles and/or the Resource Collection & Repair Drones. Due to the modifications received by the Elder Race Automated Shipyard, these Drone Fighters are faster and have better response time. They are also equipped with stronger weapons, shields, and armour.

- Resource Collection & Repair Drone (x3)

These Drone Craft are used to mine and begin processing resources from asteroids and planets (including Gas Giants and  Volcanic planets). There are facilities on the ship to turn these resources into whatever products are needed (including food and ammunition). The Drones are also capable of repairing damage to other vessels including the Arclight Cruiser itself. Normally the RCR Drones can only perform battle field repairs, however these RCR Drones have been modified by the Elder Race Automated Shipyard and are capable of completely repairing any and all damage to the Arclight Cruiser.
