Description
A show I loved when I was a kid so I thought I'd make a 3d version of the trusty work-horse from the show.S.

One of my favorite all time shows growing up. I still have a die-cast model of the Eagle and proudly display it in my house.

yeh I had a couple of the die-cast ones, but they suffered the fate of needing to replicate a crash scene

Nice work. I'm actually working on a ship that has a similar frame to it (the tubing, that is). Did you use any particular technique to put it together, or it it just well-placed cylinders?

I had schematics of the Eagle so I built some pipe sections that were going to repeat of the whole body and carefully laid them all out and joined it all up.

Cool. I'm making a similar frame of pipes for one of my projects. Is there any trick to joining them together?

depends but once you have your layout you can just attach them. Basically I created segments, and then made a number of copies. Laid them out to have they need to be then clone it for the other side of the mesh. Then if I make any tweaks on one (i.e. sliding verts around) then it is reflected on the other side also.
You can also put the framework together and attach it all, put a cut down the middle, delete one side and them make a symmetry of the side left as a close and work with a mirrored side.
(if you are using Max)
