Week 4 of wind magic class. Huzzah, Cobalt made it through!

Prior to today, Cobalt was attending the class with Vales -- the assignment involved hunting down a music box and exercising their magic on the sound it produced. They were successful in their endeavor but were cut short when an earth student sniped Vales down with a stone. Miss Netty dismissed the two early so they decided to head off to the local tappery for some sap. During their time Cobalt questioned about a book Vales had brought to class. She proceeded to explain the circumstances of the item and revealed a familiar flower that was pressed between the pages. His heart skipped a beat as the innocent memories flooded back and a myriad of emotions swell within his breast-- he had nearly forgotten of that sweet moment where the two so fondly bonded. Feeling his heart stirred and cheeks heated, Vales then proceeded to offer information that struck him cold.

"I wanted to show it to you and say no matter what, I'll never forget you and you're the best friend I'll ever have, Cobalt."

Her words were gentle, innocent, accented with her southern belle twang... but at the same time they acted as a double edged sword. They so sweetly cut into the flesh of his heart, a tender gouge that sewed the soul-clenching seed of his occupation as a "best friend." A grin curled upon his maw, eyes wide with urged appreciation, but inside his chest burned and mind wavered with a suffocating cloud of listless confusion. They continued to enjoy their drinks together, though Cobalt exhibited a facade of delight-- when he wasn't filling their time with banter he was breaking down on the inside. Soon their time came to an end and the two parted ways.

The next day was strange as the world drifted by in a surreal dream-like state. Cobalt was lost, both in his thoughts and his plans for the day. As he skulked about he soon found himself standing before Miss Netty's doorstep. Slowly he came to and realized that another class was in session with plenty of earth students practicing in the recently renovated zen garden. Without a thought he opened the gate and passed through into the yard. Slowly he made his way over until he found a broad rock to sit upon. Before Cobalt knew it, he was sitting upon the warmed stone and assumed a meditative pose with his eyes closed.

Being a "best friend" wasn't a bad thing, right? Perhaps... perhaps this was for the best.

Perhaps he just needed to let go.

Perhaps there was someone else...

... and it was then that he could hear the music box.

Woooooo Cobalt has finally finished a class! Now I can smack on some fantastic upgrades on himmmmm! Tis a shame this wasn't a water class, though. Those swimmer scales are essentiallll for himmmmm.

My goodness, look at all those earth students... WHERE'S YOUR REQUIREMENT NOW, MAGIC CLASSES?!!? BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

Ahem.

It looks like Cobalt got [best] friend zoned. This is an incredibly new experience for him since it's never really happened, haha. Don't worry your little fish face, you'll get over it-- there's always more fish in the sea, pun intended. I may or may not try to make a comic of this, it all just sorta depends.
