At long last, I am finally commenting on this, but damn...I just don't know what to say.....
This is too darn epic, I absolutely love the stark contrast between the innocent kids and this fantastic dark tale taking place.
The roughly painted style is simply gorgeous and the evil monster gro is so damn cool looking X.x

Klaus was super fun to draw. She's just such an adorable little ball of rare colored fluff, I love it! Ahh and her eyes! I loveeee pink eyes!

The background itself took about ~5 hours give or take. The characters themselves took somewhere around 4-6 as well. As a whole it ate up two days because I was mostly goofing off and procrastinating. XD
ahhhh I truly am proud of that dragon though. Tried out some new techniques and was quite happy. Would you believe me if I told that background was done on almost all 1 layer? I made an extra one for the smoke and little burning cinders. Other than that the dragon and chii'falla were painted up together. It's a super fun exercise to do.

Everyone's got their own speed so it's a-okay. XD You'll get faster as you continually develop your art.
Painting is my jazz, haha. One layer painting is a new challenge that is incredibly enjoyable though. I completely encourage trying it out. It encourages a new way of thinking about your piece and working around any problems you encounter. It's crazy fun, hehe.

Yeah. I've gotten faster already (used to take me around 12 hours to finish a fully shaded picture, now I can do it in about half that).
It's just frustrating because I am the slowest person I know... And that's for everything, not just art. ;; I mean for fuck's sake I'm nearly failing the one class I have meanwhile my older siblings are passing with flying colors while being in full time. It really makes me feel like an idiot honestly.
Yeah, I try to paint but I get frustrated and just go back to doodling. x3

Ahhh, I know the feel. I tend to be pretty slow on a lot of things as well. I like to take my time and try to make as few mistakes as possible. That doesn't always mean I suceed, but hey. It's alright to be slow. Everyone's just got their own pace.

Yeah. Well at least I managed to score 103 out of 100 on my first final exam. ;; I'm honestly so surprised by that. I guess all that last minute studying really helped (I did nothing but study since Sunday).
Same. I am thorough, and I like to make sure I know all the ins and outs first. But unfortunately school doesn't usually allow that. They try to cram as much information in your head as possible. It's no wonder so many people fail or drop out.

I imagine it's a story about balancing two opposites and creating an equilibrium for everything in the world. Just because something appears as bad doesn't mean you should fear it... Then again that's pretty much what I put in the description, haha. Wellll maybe it could be fleshed out more when more canon info is put out.

Agreed, agreed. It's all something they will reveal in time. One thing I love about this group is how they consistently build on the lore available to the group. It's not stagnant at all and there's a constant stream of new information to keep you hanging.
All the same, I'm certain they are going to bring in the opposite of Chii'falla soon. This is something I'm looking forward too. Maybe it will be revealed when they make Antova available.

Honestly just everything in this picture screams perfection to me XP
The lighting is dinamic and mood-setting. the 'bad guy' looks FUCKING AWESOME *cough* like some kind of freaky mountain lava god like holy hell and in contrast to that the bright golden glowy good guy just looks heavenly XD it's so good.
S'pecially all the little Wynglings sat at the very bottom either listening to the story or wandering about similar things in their head.
