Breaking the thumbnail barrier proves to be particularly rewarding here... You're attracted at first by the rolling green meadows (and a beautiful view they certainly offer, with fine crisp grass and pretty trees) -- then you notice the clever tricks of the composition, the gentle slope revealing the distant landscape in the right-hand side of the picture only -- then you smile with joy when you spot the tiny church at the top of the hill : a process of slow acquaintance which makes this well-behaved scenery all the more soothing. To be revisited again and again.
