its a new year n stuff, ive been through a lot and am still going through a lot. ray jay holds a lot of meaning to me as a fursona because theyve been my longest held fursona. weve been together for at least four years now. theyve changed and grown like i have, and im actually incredibly proud of how consistent its design has stayed over the years

i felt its time to refresh ray again, still holding up what makes ray jay essentially what it is, but bringing it with me still as a representative of myself as a person

this year im going to give the addition of a differing facial option, one being something more naturalistic and bird-like, but also keeping ray jay with ears as theyve always had since the beginning. ray jay is also going to get a new hairstyle(featherstyle?) to reflect my hair irl, it looks like a quail tuft which i think is just fantastic

the sketches are arranged as the refreshed design was being developed, sketches closer to the previous design are at the top, moving down to sketches getting a more cohesive refreshed design and final full body drawing to the bottom. these drawings were all drawn the same day tho so theyre all current
