I won... Tough it said draw PC was not able to move cuz all moves would lead to his defeat
It is not draw but my win
Tough I am not an pro or anything so can't say how good it plays and I actually did two stupid mistakes... Haven't played for years it seems
Anyways and what kind of algorithms you used?

If the king wasn't checked, it's draw
Oh, hard do explain... I didn't use algorithms made by others, had to write my own

Ok Well then tip lays pretty well I think.
As for draw... Huh "stalemate" - never heard about it actually... Always playing here it was stalemated lose but with less impact... Like instead of dying becoming a prisoner but it seems it is an official rule... Thanks I did not knew that Tough I had two knights, queen and mm tower so I could easily check him just was not afraid of such situation tough I should have been

hehe, I hate stalemate, I always consider myself as a winner when it happens ^^

Well that was a stalemate I actually find it to be a strange rule... More of diplomacy rule then war rule... It's like "don't shoot unarmed man" does not mean that it is a draw

Yeah, I don't know why that rule exists...
but if the black team isn't checked, and is unable to do anything, then the white team can't do anything either since the game works like white-black-white-black-ect... and then, no team can do anything which leaves the king unchecked and undefeated...= no team wins

Tough may be in some way it is funny rule Like at some point game becomes instead of battle a hunt for a rabbit that looks for a hole to hind in to

yes I wonder if someone who was about to lose, found a way to make the game draw... would be quite hard but maybe not impossible ^^

This rules is like that for that reason... For those who are at loosing position to be easier to drive game towards a draw... Here [link] Seems that is an argued rule that does exist for that purpose
Probably as a penalty or rather a cap for loosing side to make game last longer and be intense even in the end... Tough it is questionable in this case... It does feel as if stalemated guy lost may be not as miserably as being checked in the middle of the game but still...
Actually interesting feature discussion Funny it emerged so antecedently

Yeah, I agree ^^
btw do you play chess often? I've had to play chess each day for a couple of weeks when I was fine tuning the AI

No I am not playing it since mm school I think... Tough we had some time at uni when we were playing at lections
Basically I am not very interested at such games to play them often. Sometimes it sparks me to play them a little to try and grasp some universal abstract playing patterns and to analyze game design princeples behind the game rules but for games like Go/Reversi/Chess that's it.

Well chess in some way is interesting game because it allows to build structures out of elements you have I think I will try to make something like that but without orientation(this game has one axis) and may be with some physics or something

wow, I got my ass handed to me, I have yet to beat a computer at chess
really good, though it never managed to checkmate me, it ended in a loop with constant check and only one place to move the king, with two queens circling each other.
anyway, very impressive

AI is kinda unfair : not many people know how hard it actually is.
I do know, so you sure get a fav for this.
