Hello, this is a basic breakdown on how to draw hands when doing comics & manga art.
I break hands down to a 3 dimensional square shape for the main part, a triangle for the base of the thumb & cylinder shapes for the digits as I've shown in figures A, B & C.
Figure D is drawn at a head-on angle to give it a coming towards you look. This is a bit more tricky because you have to use perspective/foreshortening to really get the full effects of the shot. Which I'll cover next time in drawing action scenes.
Figures E & F are just drawn at a 3/4 angle showing various fingers extended & curled in, but you'll notice I've still kept the same basic shapes I started out with as figures A & B, I just moved the cylinders at their various segments like the various bones in your fingers would at the knuckles. When moving the thumb pieces notice by looking at your own hand, that the triangle shaped base of your thumb only moves back & forth while the rest of it does most of the actual movement.
