Any reason why you’re called the Temptress?

“Oh, there are plenty of reasons I’m called the Temptress – I’m sure you can think of one or two. But my favourite is because I tempt my opponents into making poor decisions. Like stepping into the ring with me.”

What’s your favourite scissor hold to do on an opponent?

“Oh, it depends on the opponent but you can’t go wrong with the reverse figure four for a quick KO to end the day.”

How do you feel about Alicia Wells?

“Alicia’s great because you always know where you stand with her. That doesn’t mean I’ve got any problems with showing her who’s got the deadliest legs around but it’s not going to be personal when I squeeze her out centre ring.”

Hello Isa. A question I would like to ask you is you don't like bullies, what happened in your life with bullies and how far did it go and what did you do to deal with it?

“Hey there.

Hmm. Well, I don’t like bullies because I’ve been on the receiving end. Some of it was personal, some of it was social and some of it – particularly coming from a little troll named Samiya Kusanagi – was physical.

Most of it didn’t go too far, thankfully. I’d prefer not to talk about the details though.

How did I deal with it? Well, I dealt with Samiya by working until I could kick her ass so badly she’ll never want to step in the ring with me again – which is something of an ongoing project but she knows not to mess with me nowadays. Same with anyone else who tries to push me or my friends around physically.

For the rest, some of it I just had to put up with. Some of it, I was able to work out a modus vivendi with the bullies. Some of it, I was able to humiliate the bullies so badly they realised they weren’t going to win.

I never claimed to be a nice girl. Sometimes, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.

How would you rate your chances against Alanza Acevedo? Any opinion on Alanza's desire to take on Blizzard from big league?

“Mmm, that’s a fun one. If Alanza can stay on her feet, that style of hers would be a nuisance. But when I get her on the ground, she’s not getting away from me. And once she slows down, she’s mine. I’ve just got to deal with those kicks first.

As for Lanzie wanting to take on a Blizzard, well – if she wants to stick her head into a buzz saw, that’s her own business. That doesn’t make it smart but it’s up to her.”

“Sure - so long as you wanna lose, Sharky.”

"Why are you called Armstrong when it's your legs that are strong?"

“Why, do you think my arms are weak? I’ll have to remember that if we ever tangle…

It’s my dad’s name though. When he moved to Belfast, he decided to pick a new surname and, as he was known for his bearhug… It made a lot of sense. Before you ask, he’s delighted that I’m keeping the tradition going in my own special way.”

Isa!! In my opinion, you are the best of Veherzak! Question: what goes through your mind when you are in an extremely painful hold and there's no way out?

“Hmm, first someone would have to get me in a hold with no way out – been a while since that happened…

But alright. Pain, mostly. Adrenaline only goes so far. Disappointment that I let myself get in that position. But, if it’s that painful and that inescapable, you don’t stop to think. You tap while you can.”

Who are your inspirations? Who do you fancy as an opponent? Where do you see yourself in a year? Who wins, you or Huntress?

“Xenia Onatopp. Not really. It’s hard to say – I could say my dad and it’d be true in some respects. Otherwise I guess I borrow bits and pieces more than being inspired wholesale. Like I’m itching for the chance to use Cocoa Rococo’s double armbar on someone but I wouldn’t call her an ‘inspiration’. Camille Cote’s pretty awesome though. A serious badass with great submissions… What’s not to love?

Future opponents though… Someday, me and Alicia need to tangle, same with me and Lucita. Really, I’d like to take on all the ‘squeeze queens’, show them that there’s a new sheriff in town. Beyond them… Maybe Sabrina Mancini? She’s more Bela’s idol than mine but I’d love to take her on sometime. Stephanie Ellington’s another, she punked me big time when I sparred with her and I want to show I’m not that girl anymore. I could list wrestlers all day though, I’ll take on almost anyone.

Where do I see myself in a year? Kicking ass, taking names, showing people why I’m the Queen of Squeeze. Why, did you doubt it?

Me vs Huntress is a tricky one – I think my best chance is to hope she gets disqualified for that crossbow or punching the ref or something. To be honest though, I’d rather team up with her. I’ve always wanted to see how hard I’d rock in thigh-highs, maybe that would be my chance.”

Collena - Hello Isa. I have a couple of questions. First how old were you when you first started wrestling? And second is it worth even doing wrestling myself at the age of 25? Thank you.

“Hey Collena. Love the hair.

It depends when you count from. The first time for fun, I was seventeen. I started training at eighteen and I was nineteen when I had my first formal match. As for whether it’s worth you starting?

That depends on you and what you want to do. I mean, nothing’s stopping you. But, if you’re thinking of going pro, you need to be ready to put in the work. You need to be ready to commit. I wasn’t at first and it’s why I lost my first few matches.

But you also need to have the skill and, unless you and me give the mats a test-drive sometime, who knows. So I guess it’s up to you to find out.

Or not. Like I said, it’s up to you.”

I have two questions!

Question 1: Where do you see yourself in a year when it comes to your wrestling and what you are hoping to accomplish?

Question 2: I think this one was already asked, but I'll ask it as well ... because I am dying to know the answer. You have lethally sexy legs, but is that a particular scissor hold that is your very favorite to use on an opponent?

“Let’s see… Where do I see myself in a year? Still wrestling, for one, and even better at it than now. I’d like to travel, see some more of the world wrestling scene… Face a few new faces… Beyond that, who knows? The same with what I want to accomplish. I’d rather take my life one step at a time than set goals and fail to meet them.

Although I do hope to show a certain redhead that her legs aren’t the best around anymore…

As for my favourite scissor hold, it depends. With some people, I just want to lock on the reverse and turn out their lights. Others, it’s more fun to put them in the bodyscissors and watch them squirm when they realise what I could do to their ribs.

Or there’s nothing wrong with a classic headscissors or something a little different…

Or sometimes something entirely different. I like to keep people guessing when it comes to how my legs are going to end them.”

Realistically...

How far away are you from being a real contender in the ACWZ? There is some serious high end talent there to leapfrog if you plan to get a title shot. Your skills have grown a lot but have they grown like you'd hoped and are you where you thought you'd be experience wise at this point in your career.

This one is a set up.... do you have your eyes only on individual championships or are you and Bela (or someone else ) thinking for a greater goal?

“Well, now you’ve gone and hurt my feelings. You don’t think I’m a real contender right now?

There’s certainly fighters I’ve got to be wary of there but there’s nobody I think I can’t beat, given time. I don’t care if they’re a Queen or a Predator, all it takes is one mistake and I’ve got them.

To be honest, I didn’t really have a plan going into this. I’m where I am and so long as I keep improving, that’s all that counts. I’ll let my opponents decide if my skills are up to the mark.

Hmm, trying to set me up, are you? That’s adorable. Of course I’ve got my eyes on championships, those titles will look great on my mantelpiece.

But a championship is only worth as much as the champion you beat to take it. And not all titles are formal ones.

So maybe I have my eyes on greater things right now. Guess you’ll have to wait and see.”
