This little cutie is back! And finally picked out a proper name for this little patchy baby, her name is Pepper ^^

Little Pepper here is a red barrage blacktip of a rare colouring, called a Patchy. All the colours of a barrage blacktip have all sorts of variants. White's and Black's are the rarest of the Red variant, Sea Foam and Silver's for the Blue, and Starburst and the Erbsenmuster (Pea-Dot for short) for the Green. These are the rarest, but not far behind them for each colour, there is a Patchy variant.

Patchy's have a rare genetic disorder that causes the different shades of colours that cover their hair, scales and skin. A lot of the time they are something called a genetic chimerism, or chimera. This means that the naga has two (or more) sets of different genetic material, so the difference in patches have difference DNA to the rest.

Other then the patches this doesn't really change anything about the individual, unless the naga has offspring oneday, in which case it gets confusing, like, one infant looking completely different to the other, different dna, even though it shares parents with its other siblings.

It gets confusing XD

Anyway Pepper here is one such Patchy Red, and it was born a bit to early. Her egg was damaged and broken, forcing her out long before she was due. Barrage Blacktip nagas can survive out of their eggs even if the egg was only just laid, as the egg spends a while being incubated in the mother before they are laid. Their chances of living are low though, they are very weak and prone to getting sick if they come out to early. There are ways to help them have a better chance at survival.

One popular one is to wrap up the baby in several circular pieces of soft cloth to try and replicate the egg, done in a way to try and lessen movement so they can spend all their energy on growing stronger, yet keep them nice and warm. Like what has happened with Pepper here. X3

She is a wriggler though, often when she's excited she escapes her wrappings a little. She's a happy squeaker and peeper XD

Anyway that's all for now, I have worked out who will be taking care of this baby, but I'll be revealing that another time.
