Silvery light bathed the manor, the full moon slicing through the late night darkness from high above. Flickering oil torches dimly lit the moonlight bathed hallways, providing unneeded light to the pair of vampires quietly treading down it towards the small guest bedroom. The reason was the small child currently sleeping in he blond vampire's arms, head resting in full trust against his shoulder, fingers lightly gripping into the soft fur that spilled from his coat. He gave a gentle hum, a faint tune of a lullaby when he felt little Alice shift, soon soothing her back to slumber.

He had found the small house guest sleeping quietly by herself in the library on a small bench, trying to read one of the many books there. He had noticed that Alice had been trying to stay awake later and later in the night, trying to spend more time with him and his son. The poor girl was only eight though, and often fell asleep early into her attempt.

As such, as endeared as him and Daren had become to the small child, a small competition of sorts had begun. To see which vampire could reach the child first.
Tonight as Ares carried Alice to bed, heart melting as he held the warm little body safe and close, he could feel the pouting eyes of his adoptive son at his back.

Tonight he had won their odd little race.

Somehow Alice has a way of worming her way into peoples hearts, including these two vampires!! As you might have seen in an earlier picture XD

Don't worry, Daren isn't actually mad, maybe just all grumbly since he didn't get to be the one to hold his favorite little kid. He'll be happy once he finds her next time X3

Anyway as always I hold everyone is doing well, ciao!!
