Actually, I know how to unwrap uvs and all that. I've done it for a Soundwave model, which was totally unwrapped and textured up for a class project during college. I am planning to texture up the Prime model for the Shattered Glass version, since it requires alot of painted textures.

An ambient occlusion pass might give you some nicer detailed shadows, although I'm not sure which 3D program you're using, but it should have an option for it(or a similar approach)
also, I wish the toy had elbows like that

Yeah, I want to try out using an ambient pass, instead of the current shadow pass I'm using. And legends cosmos with elbows would rock.

The model is still cool but the shadows look a little blotchy and dirty here - perhaps that can be improved?

Its from rendering it out as a shadow map. I'm going to play with the settings and see if I can refine it. Though, I might just replace it with an ambient pass for the shadows, which I've been wanting to try out.
