You know I like the lineart but the colouring is... well... messy as well as the background. Maybe I'm just no friend of flat-coloured stuff.

idk... i did do this one a little fast..
and i admit im terrible with backgrounds.. but i would rather have a messy background than none.. trust me it looked worse... been thinking of redoing it, but i really hate night elves (dispite how much of them i draw...) im waiting for my next nelf phase (that will last about a day) and i will go and try to redo her...
ive been learning more about gimp recently too.
thanks. i really love constructive criticism. it helps me improve. i hate when people comment with just "cool" or "i like it"

So.. Quick question.... When you GIMP all your line art, do you just fill in what you scanned in? Or do you actually brush over the lineart then fill in the computerized line art? Cause that's what I've always done and I wonder if there's an easier way....
But I really like the trees in the background. Er... I mean.... They work!!!

mostly i use the fill tool. lately for the shading i have done the free select tool and used the fill tool with a darker color.
its fast and effective. also its INCREDIBLE for things like... transparent materials that my characters wear...
the circles i have been doing in the background.... yeah i owe that to the free select thing.
i will show you some time....
