The massive creature was meant to be the boss battle of the Phendrana Drifts . But it was cut because Nintendo felt it was more suited for an RPG game than Metroid. But it's also very likely that it was cut due to time restraints. Making it one of the several boss fights that were axed in order to release the game in time for the holidays.Related content
