Description
So I got bored and decided to update my CSSTO shuttle, and this was the result...Replaced the 4 smaller liquid fueled orbital insertion motors with 2 much larger units, along with having a new nacelle for said engines. I also removed the linear aerospike engines and replaced them with 4 combined cycle turbofans, which can operate as conventional rocket motors as well. The Dual mode ramjet/scramjet remains at the bottom of the two combined cycle turbofans, and is mainly used for accelleration before orbital insertion.

Nicely done! I'm guessing that the large brown pod is capable of being used in space, and detachable. So, can we see this in international rescue colors?Β

Thanks
The large brown pod is an external fuel tank, as the vehicle itself doesn't have enough internal volume for fuel on its own. Β Although, I may need to make the tank bigger. Might do some basic math with it later on to make sure lol

So have u calculated yet the internal fuel and and max internal fuel that can be taken... What if u attach one external fuel tanks each underwing, outward of engine intakes... this may increase your fuel capacity, moreover they will be dispensed/ detached once the craft is in orbital insertion, giving extra momentum to the craft for orbital insertion... but such a maneuvre will be restricted to be conducted only over vastness of the ocean so the dropping tank may not do any damage...

Not yet, as this project has been on pause for a while. One of these days I will do the math on this design to see exactly how much fuel and oxidizer I will need. Who knows when that will be though lol
