Description WIP of a new bomber... Yesss, the SSLOB (lol), which stands for Super Sonic Low Observable Bomber. Ain't thought of a name nor designation for the aircraft yet. Anyway it is a intercontinental heavy bomber capable of flying long distances at Mach 2. Yes, it is a Mach 2 supercruiser that only uses afterburners for takeoff and err, emergencies...
It is roughly the size and weight of a B-52H, maybe a tad heavier. Payload is also similar, although split between two 20 ft long bays. It would have a radar cross section on par with a B-2A Spirit, making it only my 2nd truly stealthy aircraft. Will also carry air to air missiles for self defense, and will have one hell of a ECM system, along with an assload of decoys. Anyway moar specs later...

One of your coolest birds. At first glance of the thumbnail I thought it looked similar to the Arkbird. Can't wait to see the final.

lol, thanks. I noticed it does look a tad similar to the Arkbird. I also noticed it is essentially what the USAF wants for their "2037 Bomber" haha

Your welcome. Hmmm...they want a platform that can protect itself and have an extensive electronics suite Somewhat a smaller B-2. Unless you're not talking about the NGB.

The 2037 Bomber apparently is a replacement for the B-52H and B-1B and will be a heavy bomber. But since it is so far into the future, the USAF isn't spending any money on it. The NGB takes higher priority right now, though even it has been delayed...

Oh ok. I do remember hearing about it, but I thought both were the same. Get some paint schemes soon willya lol. I'd think a Raptor-esque scheme would be interesting.

lol, weird, I was thinking of possibly attempting a Raptor style scheme. May try a few different tricks when it comes time for textures....

Hmm...if this is a future plane I'd suggest not to make it look like a paint like on the Raptor. The only reason why I say this is because there is a possibility that stealth mats could be made during the next 20 years. The texture probably won't look like a paint. Also in the near future it's possible that there will be much less panel lines as large single peice composite structures could be made. So you could account for that to make your plane possibly more realistic in a near future manner.

The reason I was thinking of a Raptor-ish color scheme is due to the fact that this won't be a night only bomber like the B-2. So it will still require some form of visual camo to make it harder to spot. Although, I could go the adaptive camo route of my FV-32 Chameleon...

Yeah I understand. That's the route I would've taken as well. Lol now that's Area 51 tech. I'd be interested to see how you'd manage to get the energy for it. I bet you could propose a sort of solar ink or sheet of some sort along with the energy created by the engines. Then again I wonder how they were able to get a huge amount of energy produced in the B-2 to charge up the leading edge...

Bigger engine driven generators
Even a 737-900 can generate enough electricity to power a couple normal homes. Many commercial aircraft now have 115 volt electrical outlets for many of the seats. Between the 8 engine driven generators (two per engine) and twin APU mounted generators, I will have more than enough electrical growth. The aircraft is designed to produce enough electrical energy to even mount solid state laser weapons.

Ahh. Interesting information. I still have alot to learn about planes. Lol that sounds like overkill for a bomber. I'd say that would be something people would want to shoot out of the sky even if they really couldn't.
