-- Day 47 --

Dear Diary,

I think I overdid it. I started binge eating the fruit to escape from reality. It was getting harder to get drunk from it so I started having more and more every day. After a few days I started eating until I was stuffed. I think that was the mistake. My stomach won't shrink back to normal any more. I have a huge gut all the time now.

Maybe I'll get smaller if I stop eating the fruit. But I can't. There's no other food here.

What am I going to do?

I was upset before, but I think I made peace with things now. If I'm going to be stuck here I may as well enjoy myself. The fruit tastes good and I can still get a buzz if I eat enough of it.

I got used to being big, so moving around isn't a problem anymore. It's not too bad, as long as I don't have to bend over. I can't really do that at the moment.

What's weird is that I don't feel heavier. I thought being big would make me slow. In fact I feel lighter than I ever did before. It's like my stomach filled up with air or something. My mood is getting better too. I feel like I'm full of energy after I eat. Maybe this is a good thing?

Almost caught one of the squirrel looking animals today. I'm getting better at this hunting thing. I turned my paddle into a spear and have been practicing throwing it at the fruit that grows higher up on the trees. The high fruit is even better than the ones closer to the ground. There's a prickly looking one that tastes like a banana and is amazing. I think it's my new favorite.

I need to go scavenging on the beach again. Some more stuff washed up today. I'm almost out of toothpaste.

I made a new fire pit today. A big metal pan washed up on the beach so I put my firewood in there. It's great. It keeps the wood dry when it rains. I also found a bunch of fireworks in a plastic bag. It was sitting under a chest. I can't believe that was out there for so long. Some of it got a little damp but most of it will still light. I use it as a fire starter when it's damp out.

I don't need a fire but I keep it going to keep the bugs away while I sleep. They don't bite much. The buzzing sounds are just annoying.

Speaking of annoying, I'm getting fat. Like really fat. So fat that I'm running out of clothes that fit me. I started washing some of the clothes in the beat up suitcases so I won't have to be completely naked all the time. There was a stretchy camo tanktop that cleaned up pretty well, so I'm wearing that now.

Part of me wants to go naked and frolic in nature, like one of those hippies I read about in history class. It's funny. Even after living out here for so long, I'm still embarrassed about showing off my privates. Especially now that I'm so fat.

I think that means I still have hope that I'll be rescued. Wouldn't that be nice.
