You know, I've never thought about it. Now that you mentioned, I must admit you're right . Both my friend and I like steampunk, but to be honest I wasn't aware of the stylization until now. I guess it was more of a subconscious act .

I think it also follows the theme on LoK. They're kinna Victorian, kinna steam punk and I don't think a lot of the fandom catches onto it. So I really like seeing OCs in the fashion of that time period because it fits more in my opinion. That and I just love the elaborate detail people can go into with it ^^

i agree that it has this steampunk feel due to industrial revolution that takes place in LoK. But personally, i don't see much resemblance to the victorian era in the terms of fashion. LoK's clothes still remain strongly asian to me. but at the same time i'm no steampunk specialist so i'm not gonna argue on that .
the only thing i'm sure of is that corsts are strongly victorian therefore i automatically link them with steampunk

A lot of steam punk related clothing are taken from Victorian designs. It's the only reason I go back and forth between the two. The spats that most of the characters wear are taken from the Victorian era. But it's the things that people add to the clothing that make them more steam pinkish if that makes sense.
