GOD!!! THREE MONTHS LATER!!!! Finally done with this piece, geez, even after painter continuously crashed on me, and i was about to quit, i kept going...ugh, i did it.... and now im finally done....The sketch and the WIP version of this peice will be moved to the scraps section. This here (despite the evil Harry Potter look) is Mousse from the ranma series, the colors are off from his anime colors... but this is my interpretation, and i always thought he'd look better in a deeper purple.

Seriously, you are way too kind, I still think the coloring on this on was some of my worst lol, but hey it was an experiment with Painter, and I dont think i'll use that again.

well, the robe didn't color itself so i can only guess that i colored it wrong, no? In any event, "wrong" may just be the wrong word to use, can we just agree its "different" from the show?

i watch the series from his arrival to the end and his robe is white

i have seen the majority of the series, all the movies and Ovas, and honestly, when i see mousse, i dont see a pure white. I see a white with a tint towards that light purple i talked about... now this can only mean one of a few things... either A there is something wrong with EVERY television screen i have ever seen the show on, B maybe i have a more color sensitive eye than you, or C THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH MY EYE!!! lol, in any case, this was an experiment trying to use painter, and i admit i overdid it with the shading, it really should have been only a light shade of purple and the rest should have been a very light purple or white, but in any case this is a fanart of mousse that i did and colored, and really, I dont think one must be confined to what the characters wear in the show. I mean, if i felt like drawing him in ryoga's clothing, could that be considered wrong? And if i were to say, color ranma as a blonde, would it really make that big a deal? Not to me is all im saying, lol

you began with "why is his robe the wrong color", so you were saying i colored it wrong. And all im saying is that when someone draws or in this case colors fanart of a character, there is no rule saying it must be colored exactly the same way it is on the show. Case in point, when Mousse wears his glasses in the show, you cant see his eyes, i drew them transparent. Did i draw his glasses "wrong?"
In any event, i think i did a crappy job on the coloring in this pic anyways so if i ever recolor it ( which i have done with other pics in the past) you have my word i'll leave it white with black ends.

it isnt white, it is VERY light purple, almost like an orchid or lilac color, but VERY light, lol
Then again it also depends on what version you are watching

The final coloring looks really nice, especially on the main character. I see that the bird is a duck now, with the white coloring and all. All of the highlighting on the main character is nice.
I still can't read the sign. -_-;

i know, i couldnt think of a color that would stand out well... it reads Jusenkyo, watch your step, although not all of it is visible. Stil, even if the sign cant be read, thanks for the comments!
